Fawlty Towers Season 1 Episode 6
Episode Title: The Germans
Episode Plot
Basil is at the hospital with Sybil, who is having an in-growing toenail removed. After a short conversation, Basil is told to leave. When he arrives back at the hotel, there is a moose head waiting to be put up. The Major appears, distracting Basil from his work. Once the head is up, it drops on Basil who accidentally destroys parts of the reception. Sybil rings up to remind Basil that there is to be a fire drill at 12 o'clock. When Basil gets the fire key out of the safe, the burglar alarm goes off and he starts screaming and telling the guests the difference between the burglar and fire alarms. Manuel is in the kitchen and ends up on fire during the drill. He is locked in by Basil, who is unaware of the fire. When Manuel is released, he sends the guests out again and attempts to put the fire out, which backfires and puts him in hospital. Basil wakes up and escapes back to Fawlty Towers in time to greet the German guests. "Don't mention the war!" However, he does and offends the Germans by impersonating Hitler. In a mad chase round the hotel, Basil is knocked out a second time by the moose head.
