Episode Title: A Hero for Earth

Episode Plot
The pilot for the show. Gaia, the spirit of the Earth summons five average teenagers to help protect the planet. Each with special powers.
Kwame, who has been planting seeds with a long stick happens upon his ring in one of his furrows; Gi, who has been swimming with a dolphin catches her ring, which the dolphin has thrown to her; Wheeler, who has been saving a man from getting mugged, catches his ring after a trash can bursts into flames, and the ring shoots into the air and lands right into his hand; Linka, who is playing her musical keyboard, has a bird land nearby, and the bird gives her her ring; and Ma-Ti, who has just saved his pet monkey, Suchi, from being eaten by a leopard, receives his ring from the little monkey after he untangles him from some vines. Once transported to Hope Island, the Planeteers get a crash course in Planeteer Powers 101 and are immediately sent to their first eco-mission.

In their first eco emergency, they go off to fight Greedly, who was dumping oil in forest lakes and rivers.
After Wheeler and Greedly banter back and forth with their bull horns, Greedly threatens to zap the animals with oil if the Planeteers attack the oil rig. This is when they summon Captain Planet. Cap is successful in sucking up the oil spill, but his alergy to pollution becomes apparent when Greeldy blasts him with toxic waste. The boys all roll a bolder by Cap to protect him from Greedly's machine while the girls find freshwater to wash the gunk off Captain Planet. Unfortuantely, Greedly does get away, and Cap recharges and leaves the Planeteers to clean up the beach and help the animals.
The Planeteer Alert was about saving energy by turning off unneeded lights and carpooling.
