Captain Planet and the Planeteers Season 6 Episode 5

Episode Title: Frog Day Afternoon

Episode Plot
Here comes a summery to a very beloved Captain Planet episode.

The scene opens with Mal giving Dr. Blight a checkup. He tells her that she is in perfect health, except for a scar that seems to be spreading over her
face. Mal predicts that Blight will be disfigured in a few years, so the scientist demands some answers. Mal tells her that she could use frogs to restore
her face to normal. This drives the demented doctor to swipe chunks of land where frogs are known to reside.

Meanwhile, back on Hope Island, The Planeteers are playing volleyball, and Wheeler seems to think he doesn’t need to wear a shirt or rub on sunscreen.
Gaia interrupts the game to tell them of the latest eco-emergency. She explains that pieces of land have been mysteriously disappearing, and that frogs
are becoming even more endangered than ever. Once the Planeteers make tracks for the geo-cruiser, Wheeler complains that his back hurts from a sunburn.

The scene then switches to Dr. Blight’s making shakes out of the frogs and drinking them. Mal is disgusted at this sight, and Blight vows to keep fixing
froggie frappes despite the decreasing number of frogs and Mal’s complaints.

The Planeteers are surveying a piece of land that is expected to be scooped up as others have been. Wheeler is in such pain, all he can do is lie on his
stomach and cry out whenever a frog hops onto his back. Suddenly, the ground begins to shake violently, and Kwame, Linka, Gi, and Ma-ti fall back onto
their butts. Wheeler attempts to stand up, is knocked unconscious when he hits his head, and falls onto land that is being towed away. Kwame starts the
“team beam” process, but nobody knows Wheeler is knocked unconscious and taken away on that moving hunk of land. So how does Gi know that they could track
Wheeler?

Knowing that Wheeler is lying on her most recently stolen terrain, Dr. Blight captures him, straps him to a table and begins to harvest skin and hair samples
from him. When he comes to he wants to know what she is doing to him. She explains her plans to inject defective DNA into him and the other Planeteers,
turning them into “super scabs”. Before she can fill her syringe, she sails into turbulence that is so rough that she could not keep on her feet. During
this shake rattle and roll the beakers slide around, switching places. Neither Wheeler nor Blight realizes that she was injecting him with a shrinking
formula.

The next scene shows the other Planeteers tracking “the chunks of land Blight ripped off” – Now how do they know Blight is the one taking the land? They
then see Wheeler tied and gagged and attached to tent pegs driven into the ground. The Planeteers are shot down by Blight, who has been expecting them
and has set a trap for them, using Wheeler as bate. When he sees his teammates coming to his rescue, Wheeler begins rubbing his face on the ground on
order to nudge his gag off. His warning comes just a little too late, for Blight pops up out of nowhere and begins shooting darts at the other four.
Only Linka is hit. After Kwame and Gi untie Wheeler, they all run off into the woods to get away from Blight. Soon, Linka and Wheeler are feeling sick,
so the Planeteers make camp in order to let the sick ones rest.

In the middle of the night, Ma-ti wakes up Kwame and Gi to tell them that Linka and Wheeler apparently disappeared, leaving behind their clothes. They
decide they must look for them, but they don’t know that Linka and Wheeler have shrunken into their clothes. When Wheeler wakes up he is surprised to
find he is naked, and he rips a portion of his jeans pocket out and wraps it around him like a kilt. When Linka wakes up, she too is shocked to find herself
au-natural. Resisting temptation to peek, Wheeler finds some white cloth and feeds it into Linka’s sleeve so she can dress. She emerges in a make shift
toga. They then assume that their friends have been captured by Blight, and they set out to find the lab – and hopefully a cure for their shrunken size.

With their rings around their necks, Linka and Wheeler begin the most dangerous trek of their lives. They run into giant ants, spiders, pollutants, gill
monsters, and other hidden dangers that threaten smaller life forms. They see frog eggs that are unable to hatch, and they free a frog from its Styrofoam
cup prison. The frog DNA has temporarily robbed the shrunken Planeteers of their voices, but they’re able to talk again soon. Finally, they run into
Suchi and ride him back to Blight’s lab.

It is there that they are reunited with the others. Then Blight shows up, and the trouble begins. The Planeteers summon Captain Planet, hoping he would
rescue them and the frogs, and that he would stop Blight. Blight grabs Wheeler and threatens to drop him into a blender if Cap doesn’t back off. However,
when the four Planeteers and Cap retreat, she tosses Wheeler into a tank of frogs. Soon Wheeler begins to grow back to his normal size. The battle between
Blight and Cap goes on, and Cap eventually rescues Wheeler and the frogs.

Back on Hope Island, everyone is playing volleyball – except Linka, who has not grown to her normal size yet. Wheeler playfully tosses her into the pocket
of his t-shirt and accidentally sneezes into her toga. She mumbles something in Russian before the final scene plays out. In this scene, Mal confesses
that he made a mistake in his calculations, and that Blight is really worsening her condition instead of curing it.

Unfortunately, I did not get the Planeteer Alert to this episode.
