I haven't got to read the whole thing yet. I have inlaws in town and I just can't sneak away 
. What I've read so far is really good and I am dying to know who gets killed and then the wait is on for the final book.

Anyway I finished the book last night. Thought it was great and so can't wait for the next book so we can finally find out what happens. I so didn't think that (FOR THOSE WHOE CARE, SPOILERS) Snape was going to be the Half Blood Prince but I knew that he was a death eater all along since he was so good at occlumens. Also I knew that Snape not Malfoy was going to kill Dumbledore because if Draco had been told to kill Harry he had his chance on the train. It also wouldn't surprise me if Snape has more to do with Voldemort than we think, knowning how J.K. likes twists it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't have Voldemort in his power under the Imperious Curse.
I really thought that we would hear more about Sirious and the veil, but maybe that will come in book 7. By the way 7 seems to be a very poplur number for harry doesn't it? What are your thoughts on the fake locket signed R.A.B.? The is alot of talk of it being Sirious brother, which I think is a very good possibility.I don't know about you, Miss Kitty, but I feel so much... yummierAre you sure you want to delete this post? I definitely think R.A.B is Regalus Black, I don't think she'd be introducing yet ANOTHER new character, unless someone has an alias or nickname they havn't shared yet. But I also think she likes to screw with you as a writer, The Half Blood Prince was not really an important story line in this book, I suspect she was doing it as a diversionary tactic and possibly poking fun at herself and the book world. I had two choices as to who I thought HPB was - Snape and Godric Gryffindor (I was really hoping Godric) but earlier in the year i had been thinking Neville, until I read a JK interview where she said that it def. wasn't him. I do think that the HPB will def. come into play in the seventh book and more of Snape's story too.
Sirius' death seemed dodgy at best and very unexplained so i think Sirius will re-emerge.
on that note, do you think a potrait of sirius appeared at 12 grimmauld place as quickly as D's did in Hogwarts? Maybe that's why they didn't visit it in the sixth book? I dont think that's jsut a Hogwarts headmaster thing because in grimmauld all of the black ancestors' portraits are there, maybe it's a decision te family makes?
I think when Dumbledore was was telling Snape 'please' he was asking him to sacrifice him because he knew about the Unbreakable Vow to Narcissa and that he still needed him for the Order, besides you can always speak to Dumbledore's portrait now and I'm sure Fawkes went on some 'in case of Dumbledore's death' mission but will come back to help out in the next book (i hope) but the whole paragraph about his song was beautiful.
i think Snape was also teaching harry some more occulemency in the paragraph where he was taunting him and blocking his own spells from harry. just kind of hinting at him, but i think harry is way too angry to notice that (personal opinion) Snape is still a good guy and will prolly be teaching harry some more in the next book and also throwing Voldie off the track from Harry's Horcrux Hunting.
I didn't like Harry and Ginny at first but I definitley think they will get back together and be maried and all that (if ginny lives through the book) they're very cute together and very good for eachother
I think Ron and Hermoine will get together in the next book (FINALLY) and i'm glad they saved it until then
but the four of them coupling off seems a bit too convenient sometimes
tonks and lupin is sooo freakin cute-wasn't expecting that
and one more thing that bothers me:
if tom riddle knew about horcrux's (thanks to slughorn) while he was a teenager and even made a teenage horcrux (the diary) why then wouldn't the diary riddle know to take godric gryffindors sword when harry got it from the sorting hat in chamber of secrets? instead he just shrugs it off.
but you know, that's too nerdy and prolly just a tiny mistake or can be explained somehow...
anyway i think im going to read it again as soon as my boyfriends finished it tonight.
overall: awesome book can't wait for the next. at least GoF is coming in November

I'm about halfway through book 3, so by the time I make it to book 6 it will be old news. My goal right now is to read book 4 before the movie comes out.
Speaking of Harry Potter books, does anyone here think I'm insane for wanting the whole collection in hardcover edition and keeping the paperback ones for my future kids to read?
