I'm just having an open mind. You guys are already judging a movie that you haven't even seen.

An open mind has little to do with it. Yes, we are judging a movie we haven't seen. Mainly based on indicators that have proven to hold true for every other disappointing or outright god awful film that has come out. I think the reason most of us are being bitchy about it is because we WANTED this film to be made. And once again the powers that be have not listened to the fan base.

Has anybody seen that Hasbro is releasing a Hot Rod action figure that is almost identical to the original? I just saw it today.

Seen it. I got it. I also have the new model Bumblebee, which I actually like a lot better than the mini version, as there is more to the transformation.

I always liked Hot Rod but everyone always gave him shit because they thought he was just trying to erase all Prime had done. :x

Yeah I heard about this movie over the summer, and I hope that Michael Bay does a good job directing it. And I know that the "Live-Action" will be kinda different than what we are used to. They are still using that same noise from the orignal when they Transform. I can't wait!!!! :D

That is what I heard, one of those rumors. How cool would that be though to have that classic sound?

It would be but after seeing the trailer and hearing the sounds I don't think it is going to happen.

    meh

I am reminded ever so much of the recent War of the Worlds trailer. They are going out of their way to NOT show us the subject of the film. That kind of artificial hype building is never a good sign.

You know, if they think that their special FX are too good to show a decent shot of, then my money will be too good to be spent on their film.

I wasn't a really big fan of War of the Worlds myself. But I kind of liked that movie. In all honesty, I held no high expectations of that movie, I just went to see it. I hold no expectation of the Transformer movie. All I know, is that they did put a lot into this flik. They only showed quick glimpses of the FX so to not reveal too much of the on screen magic. That's why it's called a teaser. Even in a full blown trailer, you won't get a quarter of what the movie is about. I think the quick short glimpses of the robots help sell the movie. It makes it almost scary and mysterious. But, everyone is entitled to thier own opinion. Just don't knock it 'till you see it.

Meh, I really wanted this movie to be good. I guess you can't say I have high expectations but just high hopes instead. But every time I see a picture, trailer or a portion of the script I keep getting let down. Not to mention that it's Michael Bay directing it, Mr. music video himself. I keep trying to forget this fact but it's impossible. The fact that Spielberg is behind it gives it somewhat credibility but in the end it just looks like crap.

This will be another one of Bay's overextended music video turned into movie. Full of the same superficial slow action sequence crap without any substance, story or plot to it whatsoever. Not to mention the obvious fact which I'm sure has been echoed here many times already that these are not the same Transformers we grew up on. So the obvious question is why call it that? It's a shame that they have to associate the Transformers name with this shite!

Like I said I really hope I'm wrong about this but I seriously doubt it.

I'm actually glad the Transformers in the new movie aren't the ones we grew up with. Let's be honest with ourselves, that would just look ridiculous. If they were to do that, they might as well go back to the cartoon. It's the same arguement about the X-men movies. I hear how much the characters from the movie aren't like thier comicbook counterparts. And why should it be? It's a whole different medium. Things have to be translated differently. That's why I hold no expectation with any movie.
