anybody remember Legend w/ tom cruise?

i got the ultimate edition DVD recently and it has the theatrical release and an uncut version that is almost a half hour longer and has the original score.

i couldn't believe that it was tim curry playing the lord of darkness, i never knew that before. he had so much makeup on that the only thing thats really him is his eyes...after i read that it was him playing the part i did notice the voice sounded like him. and the princess is mia sara, the girl that played sloane in Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I've never seen the whole thing....I just remember seeing bits of it on HBO back in the 80's and wondering what the hell it was all about......I kept saying "Is this entire movie shot in Slow Motion!?".

Magic Unicorn? Pass......I loves me some 80's movies....maybe I should give this one a second chance........then again...maybe not.

I think Legend is one of the best fantasy films ever created. The musical score, cinematography, and special effects were outstanding. It's got a very unique dreamlike quality.

I just recently bought the DVD and was able to see it for the first time in a long while. It was even better than I remembered. A lot of people complain but I think it was excellent. It does have a dreamlike quality and that's what makes it so special. You don't need explosions and one liners to tell a story. Legend's probably the most beautiful movie I've ever seen. You can't duplicate it's feeling with computers, and I'm glad it was made before the computer generated craze hit.

Legend is a great fantasy movie, I really need to get around to buying the ultimate edition DVD to replace my clunky old VHS. I wonder what the original score sounds like, is it any good? Personally although it's pretty cheesy, I like the Tangerine Dream music.

That is quite an incredible makeup job on Tim Curry, as usual he makes a fantastic villain. Mia Sara also had some great costumes in this movie, especially when she "turns evil," aaow! Hahahaha, and then there's poor insane Tom Cruise who looks like a sissy as usual, and um, tee hee hee, somebody really shoulda told him to watch all the squatting when all he's really wearing is a long shirt :? But I don't know, I guess that can be kinda sexy if you actually like Cruise, maybe that was the point.

Did anyone recognize Robert Picardo as Meg Mucklebones? The one that pops out of the swamp when they get to the big tree. I was like "Whaa? The Cowboy from Innerspace, the doctor from Star Trek Voyager, seriously?"

I think that the other characters were just kinda annoying though. After about 3 minutes of that damn sprite, I really wanted to smash her with a giant flyswatter. Too bad ol' Darkness didn't have a bug zapper in his giant tree, ZAAAAAAP!

I remember this movie from WAY back when I was a kid. The Ultimate Collector's dvd is great. I like how you get both versions of the same movie: the US version for the awesome soundtrack, and the Europe version for a longer movie, more scenes, and more character development. Just freakin' outstanding. I wish they'd done this with Ginger Snaps, seeing as how the US version is edited.

    Funny,
Legend was actually on TV last night. Personally, I hated this move. That's probably not a fair statement because I've never actually seen the whole thing from beginning to end. I can't force myself to sit and watch it. I got through about 30 minutes of it last night before I had to change the channel...

    SjN :?

I liked the song that played at the end

"Legends can be now and forever, teaching us to love for goodness sake...."
Tom cruise looked gay in this film to me, not wearing pants and all.
Definitly one of the scarest looking bad huys. I beleive Ridley Scott directed this film(Alien, Gladiator)

Not a Good film but very nostalgic for me. I did buy the Dvd though

I admit it I loved it, when I was a kid I thought it was great. It is pretty campy and cheesy (unicorns, love breaking spells and what not). But when I was a kid, I was all about cheesy.

Legend what a movie too watch I was so scared of Tim Curry's character when I was young. A good movie from the best times of movie making the mid 80's.

Yes this movie was awesome. I used to get my mom and dad to rent it for me all the time when I was little. I loved that movie and was very much into the cruise before he became a mega star and wierd with the scientology thing. The movie was great though, I love the fantasy movies like that. A dark fairytale ya know. :P
