Baseball hall of fame vote today...

    		 Baseballs HOF vote is today with some cotraversial canidates up for election such as Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Sammy Sosa and to a lesser degree Mike Piazza. If I were choosing Bonds, Clemens and Sosa would be locks for me, I know they did take steroids but it's my feeling that steroids aid you in working out not in playing the actual game of baseball. If Bonds is not elected then the MLB all time homeruns leader as well as the MLB all time hits leader (Pete Rose) would both not be in the hall which is utterly ridiculous (Rose should also definitely be elected in). Players such as Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb are enshrined like saints by baseballs old guard and though they did not use steroids they played in a time when black people were not even allowed in the league, hows that for a performance enhancement take away every african american and latin american player and how much better would every other players performance be. In short baseball writers need to wake up and get Bonds, Clemens, Sosa and most definitely Pete Rose into the HOF, the hall is and embarassment without them.

    		 I have no doubt that Chipper Jones will be in the Baseball Hall of Fame someday.

    How Bonds, Clemens and Sosa got nominated is beyond me.

    Chipper will definitely get in when hes eligble (my Dads all time favorite player btw) I personally think he could play another year or two if he wanted.

    		 If the Hall of Fame is reserved only for saints, then we have a problem here. Players have every right to look at the public and the press and say, "let's see what you can do", before they take any more scolding.

    I see Edgar Martinez is on the ballot - YES PLEASE!

    Well, he has sustained a lot of injuries, which is probably why he decided to retire.

    Speaking as someone who pays no attention to baseball, I've heard of those guys. Never heard of Chipper Jones. Does actual media fame count as a "contribution to baseball in general" according to HOF criteria?

    		 Looks like no one was elected this year. I never knew if you didn't get 75% of the vote then they just don't elect someone for that year. I think there is a lot of politics involved in this though. There's one player on the list who's last year of eligibility is next year, so he might just get it out of respect.
