As you may have heard, in the wake of the recent school shooting in Conneticut and the media unneccesarily blaming video games, some SouthingtonSOS group is planning a violent game amnesty where people can amnest violent games to be destroyed, with each customer receiving a $25 gift certificate in exchange!
We cannot allow this plan to be a success!
If you live in Conneticut and/or have friends/family in Conneticut, please ask/urge them and ask/urge them to ask/urge their friends and family NOT to support this misguided plan to destroy violent games!

It's not the games, it's not the firearms, it is the person who did it. He needed help for years but somehow, somewhen, his family and the system did nothing and this resulted. Had he gotten help years ago, this most likely will not have happened.

I don't see the problem with their program. What does it matter to you personally? I have a ton of crappy FPS I'd love to trade in for cash.

No kidding... That is what this society has evolved into, always something else's fault.
    What... me worry?

Let them do it, it won't be the end of violent video games.

Plus I totally agree with Nowhereman1966 stated, it's not the games, it's the person. There has NEVER been a case where a perfectly normal, nice and well being person all of a sudden played a video game and went crazy, shooting up people. Nor have I ever heard of a study that proving playing violent games, watching violent TV or listening to violent music has increased a need in one to be violent.

People have been using violent video games as a scapegoat for decades already.

No matter how many people support this drive, I doubt it will change anything.

Oh, and CT are the abbreviations for Connecticut, not CN.

Yeah, but it means that labour was wasted.

Plus with some games, getting a $25 gift card could be more than you would get trading them in at a used game store.

Yeah here in St Louis this guy shot his financial aid officer because his aid got cut. And people are trying to blame the legal gun owners. Funny if I wanted to be a criminal I certainly wouldn't be trying to legally obtain a gun.
