I Can't Get Over How Some Robbers Operate!

    		 I watch the news and/or read the paper just about everyday and quite often you hear of banks, stores, etc. being robbed. One thing I can't get over is how a lot of thugs attempt to pull off the robberies...by implying that they have a gun/weapon when they announce the hold-up, but never have one displayed. It often makes me wonder if a teller or store clerk in such a situation ever attempted to "challenge" the robber by saying "You SAY you have a gun, huh??? Where is it??? SHOW ME!" I've always wondered what the chances are of a robber being unarmed when he announces a hold-up, claiming he has a gun but doesn't show one. My theory is, if a robber is armed, he will pull his weapon on his victim(s), unlikely keeping it concealed. Of coarse, I could be wrong.

    		 Better safe than sorry. I'm not getting my head blown off at work because I thought somebody was bluffing and they weren't. It's a 50-50 chance. Fun to play the hero in our heads but in life I rather play the sucker and stay alive thank you.

    		 There have actually been several cases where the clerk has called the robber on their bluff. Their have been many different outcomes from them running away to them attacking or even shooting the clerk. Most establishments have a policy to just give the robber what they want. I agree with stake n sheak. I wouldn't risk my life to be a hero for the company I work for.

    		 The problem is, aside from it being against bank policy to engage a robber (people will literally get fired even if they become a hero), you endanger other people by taking your chances. Hence the policy. A cornered tiger will do just about anything to survive. Most of the time they have a knife or a nearby tool they can use to take a hostage or something bad.
