Christmas Music Still Played The Day After Christmas?

Timothy1964 4 months 22 days ago Posts: 795	With Christmas 2012 now behind us, I've always wondered...How many of you still listen to and/or hear Christmas music on the radio the day after Christmas??? As for me, I play my Christmas mix tapes and CD's for the last time on Christmas night, before putting them away until I bring them out again after next Thanksgiving. Although it is still the holiday season until after New Year's Day, it seems most, if not all holiday music stops playing right after Christmas Day for some reason. I stop playing my Christmas music simply because you generally seem to stop hearing it everywhere else after Christmas Day and I'm not as much "into the spirit" as I am in the days leading up to Christmas. However, I don't mind listening to maybe one or two of my favorite holiday tunes within the first couple of days after Christmas, which I've done in the past.

Sunriser 4 months 21 days ago Posts: 7684	Normally I love extending the holidays through New Year's (especially when I'm cooking and cleaning for New Year's parties), but this year I want it all to be over. I didn't get to hear much of my favorite versions of songs this year, but I am so thankful the end is in sight. I sincerely hope 2013 is the beginning of a new chapter in my life, I really do.

Drahken 4 months 20 days ago Posts: 2140	The mood definitely drops off after the day is done, but I still tend to wind up listening to holiday music after the 25th (just not as much/often). Then again, I tend to listen to xmas music in march and august, and any other time when I am randomly in the mood. As far as the music stopping in stores, that's because 1) the employees are sick of xmas (they've often been dealing with it since august or so) and 2) they usually get stuck with some cheezey muzak station which chooses crappy songs & plays the same 5 songs over & over, all day every day. As soon as corporate "allows" them to turn it off, they pounce on it.

Thatdudeinthehoodie 4 months 20 days ago Posts: 55	I usually don't listen to Christmas songs even before Christmas. I just wasn't in the Christmas mood this year like I used to be. But at times I'll listen to a couple through out the year if I feel like it.
	Thats right I ran over the Taco Bell dog...... I got banned from Taco Bell for life.

I did not expect to be so moved by a song caught online but this clip reminds me just what this season is really all about - and I want to share it with all my friends here at RJ: Away In A Manger...

Alyssa Branen 4 months 18 days ago Posts: 4233	I tend to pack it all away (decorations, music, movies, etc) within a few days after Christmas, but I also start listening to it right around Thanksgiving. Some people don't really get into the mood of the holiday until like Christmas eve and like to listen to the music and keep the decorations up until like the 12th of January. We got rid of cable back in July, thinking we could stick to neftlix and hulu for tv. This would have worked great except the cheaper internet company we switched to SUCKS and is super slow, so if one person is watching netflix, hulu will start and stop and then just stop..with the old cable/net company we never had that issue so we are getting it back with the tax return. Anyway, LOL I wasn't able to watch ALL of my favorite Christmas tv movies since we didn't have cable. A Christmas story wasn't on netflix and Ebbie (a christmas carol version with Susan Lucci normally on lifetime for women) wasn't either. Neither were on youtube. Also, one year Emmit Otter was on youtube but he no longer is. So right now I've got a bunch of CHristmas movies in my wish list on itunes that I plan on buying when we get our tax return so we'll have them to watch next year lol

The most likely instance of this would be if I'm listening to the Moshi Monsters Music Rox album, on which the Moshi Monster Christmas (or should I say Twistmas?) song "Moshi Twistmas" is the last track!
