    		 i'll be leaving this afternoon for a so-called "black friday" sale happening at my local retro gamestore. most of the games will be %30 off while the dvd's they have will be 45% off

    Its an absolute shame that Walmart would put these people in those situations. They said they were going to make changes after that worker was crushed to death a couple of years ago. I'm guessing these were decisions made my the local stores and not corporate.

    Rather its Black Friday, a game release or Jordan shoe release; these store have an obligation to keep things under control. Black Friday is still a new concept in our culture and there will be changes once they start getting slapped with huge lawsuits.

    		 I don't know that I could ever do it. If I did,it wouldn't be to get some popular item that you KNOW they only have like five of just to trick people into coming in, knowing they will shop anyway once they are there, despite the items not being left. If I went, it would be to people watch and just enjoy the weirdness of being out so late and shopping. Again though, not sure I could do it. I hate crowds. I was telling my husband when I worked at the grocery store back home in my early 20s I LOVED having Wednesdays off. It was like, the perfect day..I could go with my friends that had that day off to the movies for a matinee, and no stupid tweens would be there, and hardly any annoying adults. I could go to the mall and it wouldn't be scary crowded. Just awesomeness.

    I know someone that said they went to the local wholesale sports store on black friday to shop for a gun. They were the first in line but somehow still got cut in front of. They said no way in heck were they arguing with big guys in leather jackets that had gun permits lol

    		 Well, my husband surprised me by telling me that the tickets he got for free at the casino were to see Trans Siberian Orchestra on Black Friday. I wasn't too happy- I thought it was Saturday. But we went anyway. It's a good thing they consider him a "high roller" (he really just learned how to game the system to earn as many points on his card as he could without loosing money) so we had reserved parking at the crowded casino and we used his points for free food and the last of our Christmas shopping.

    But man, it was a madhouse- so many people on vacation. And these people were awful at walking and keeping the hallways cleared. The casinos are getting so crowded all the time now, not just on special days. Happy people are out spending money again (since there were times it got super empty on weekends), but hopefully they can expand or get more staff to tame the crowds. It was not a fun time.

    		 With the ease of online shopping I'm shocked that crowds still mob stores like Target and Walmart. Not my scene at all.

    		 Not my scene either Eddstarr88. I think that the majority of the people that go to black friday these days, DON'T just go hoping to get their Christmas presents, they go because they actually ENJOY going out in that madness. It sounds strange to you and me, but they actually LIKE dealing witht he crowds LOL

    		 I went to Target on Black Friday a few years ago. Nothing got ridiculous, including the deals. I didn't bother to buy anything, didn't see anything worthwhile.

    This year I was downtown for an errand already, so I happened into Sears. A few weeks ago I went to get winter boots and my girlfriend saw a pair she liked, so I went back to get them since her birthday is coming up. There was a long-ish line at the nearest counter, so I went one floor up and only had to wait for one person in front of me. Then I stopped at Reckless Records around the corner and picked up some music, but they weren't doing a sale.

    So yeah, I've never seen the mobs. If there are people waiting at 4AM I've never been early enough to see it, but it's hard to imagine. I think the madness only occurs at big box stores in rural areas.

    I also have that suspicion. It's crowded at the stores, but I never see mobs or hear about them around here.
