I love me some Banjo Kazooie, but one of the hallmarks of my N64 experience was Donkey Kong 64 which was another Rare tilte that appears to have been built on the same engine.

Banjoo Kazooie was really fun. It just seemed so much more "alive" than other N64 platformers. I love Super Mario 64 as much as the next guy but I always felt alone playing it. Like just Mario in these huge expanses of levels. Whereas Banjo Kazooie you were 2 characters and the levels had so much going on. I never did beat it though. I got really close, then stopped playing then when I went back later I had no idea what to do.
