Somebody please show some love for my man SRV - Stevie Ray Vaughan!

His appearance on "Austin City Limits" left me in awe. His interactions with the audience between sets was flat-out amazing. The guy was a natural showman, and ham (in a good way), lol.

    RIP SRV...

3.Alex Lifeson, he was really good at doing build ups in his guitar solos

    2. Eddie Van Halen, Sure, there are faster guitar players out there, but you at least had a sense that his solos were organized and went well with the rest of the song

    1. Jimi Hendrix, I put him at the top not because of his technique (which is still good) but because of the mood his playing puts you in, he's one of those guitarists that watching him play makes you want to learn guitar.

good call, I'm more into hip hop but my Dad loves Yngwie Malmsteen and to me he always sounded more advanced than any other guitarist (though I'm certainly no professional judge of guitar talent)

Nice call on Stevie Ray Vaughn too another of my pops fav's.

Depends on the genre, but to try to cover all bases I'll say:

    Michael Romeo
    Gary Moore
    Uli Jon Roth or Yngwie

There are too many to name just three, but I did see Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top very recently, and he has to factor into it.

Props to Rik Emmett and Dimebag Darrell Abbott!

Carlos Santana has some skills. You should hear him play "Soul Sacrifice".
