Hey just wanna know if anyone likes or loves the new tmnt on NICK.
I still like the 80's TMNT cartoon way better than the new one.

I definitely don't like the art style of this one.

But I haven't watched the show, I don't have Nick...what do you think of it?

Haven't seen it yet. This new CGI reboot looks messed up imo.

multiple krang creatures that don't talk normally, donatello with a gapped tooth, and april o' neil. as a teenager. i don't think i can stomach what the rest of the series has to offer

This part at least, is from the original comic book. The 87 cartoon took liberties. Little brain-looking guys in robotic suit stomachs were researchers at TCRI, not one evil dude from Dimension X who bitches at Shredder.

Speaking as a fan of the original tv series, I am quite pleased with the new one. Though the art style is a bit different, and a somewhat aquired taste, it is clever and funny, with enough action woven in to make it worth watching. Lots of homages to the old series and the comics. I especially enjoy that the original voice actor of Donatello (from the 80's tv series) is reprising his role here (albeit with a gap in his teeth..lol). Sean Astin and Jason Biggs do an admirable job as Raphael and Leonardo. The writing is quite good as well, though the whole "random thug gets mutated by ooze" plotline is already starting to wear thin.

The original will always be the best. This one is pretty good though, better than other recent attempts. Despite the jump from 2d to 3d, I don't find this style as jarring nor repugnant as the 2003 series.
...Although I couldn't help thinking of mojo jojo every time the krangbots spoke.

I watched an episode with my kids the other day, it was the first time i've seen it. To my suprise I accually thought it was o.k. They seem to have captured some of the essence of the original t.v show. I got the impression that this new show is set in a time when the turtles were younger, splinter seems young, and taller. I usually hate remakes of my favorites, but this one is o.k.

OK, this interview with Rob Paulsen actually has me willing to check out the show.

I did enjoy the 2003 series (despite knowing all the stories already, from reading the comics many times for many years) AND Fast Forward so perhaps I should have a little more faith. The movies have said otherwise...but this isn't a movie

I don't know why people are hating on the 2003 series, I thought it was great. In my opinion, that series had without question the best Shredder.

I enjoyed the new Nick TMNT for what it is, but I am not too found of the character designs, I don't see what Donatello has to have the gap tooth. And no desrespect to the voice actors, but something about the voices brother me too. Rob Paulsen does a pretty good "nerdy voice" for Donny, which I figured he would, but something about the other turtles voices just sound a little "off" to me.

I think younger kids just take TMNT in general at face value, they don't know what it was, and probably don't care anyways. Face it guys, the people running TMNT aren't aiming at original fans, but a new generation of TV fodder.

It doesn't need to aim at me. The original cartoon is pretty bad now, in my eyes. The last two shows were good and were surely no more aimed at me. I will still get around to checking it out sometime, and if I don't like it, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

I watched it online when it first started and I fell asleep on the second episode. Not to sound like an old man, but I'm pretty much past kiddy shows. I've tried watching some of the shows I grew up with and many of them were painful to watch. With work and all of my little projects I'm doing, any time I have to watch TV isn't going to be spent watching shows intended for children.

I've only seen 3 episodes and sadly I may not watch many more than that, I don't like the art style or some of the story stuff they've done. It's a shame, I really enjoyed the 2003 reboot, but this, like with all new NICK stuff, sucks.

I thought the 2003 version was good as well. I loved the video games too. I just don't like when they take old cartoons and reboot them in a Japanese anime style like they did with Thundercats.
