Another Unidentified Object

Coast to Coast AM was contacted by AboveTopSecret.com, or was it the other way around?, with an amazing ufo photo that's worth taking a look at.

According to Coast to Coast AM, this German couple was on vacation on the Greek island of Crete when goats appeared on the road in front of their car. A series of photos were taken of the goats.

Only later, when reviewing the images, was this strange object noticed. It appears on only one frame in the photo series, each taken about a minute apart. The couple claim that as the pictures were taken neither saw nor heard anything unusual in the sky that day so the image of the ufo was a real surprise to them.

This is the first "glass domed" flying saucer image I've seen recently. What do you guys think?

    UFO Image over Crete...

Dunno what to think. The technical analysis looks good, although I'm less than a hobbyist on the matter. The JPG artifacting around the UFO is similar to that in other areas of the picture. I wonder if the RAW data from the camera was analyzed. It's not mentioned but the photographer is a mentioned as being a professional and this Ritzman guy seems very thorough. So this is pretty wild.

Totally 'chopped photo. Those are west indies milk goats, no way they'd be in Greece.

This is a very interesting photo.

The shooter's reflection in the rear view mirror confirms that she would've seen an actual flying object in the sky at the moment this photo was taken. Yet she says that she saw nothing unusual while filming the goats.

Add to that the object appearing in only a single frame from the photo series and I say that this is a photo-optical anomaly, internal to the camera workings.

However I do like the whole "flying domed earth base" appearance. If it was possible to recreate the glitch that caused this object it would make a great app to add to any camera, "make every pic a UFO scene" - "be the life of your next party" - "make any wedding truly memorable", lol.

The UFO seems far too in-focus, especially considering that the camera is focused to close range, near the front of the car.

Yeah, the more you look the more stuff you notice. If this was a real object then it looks like it paused in mid-air to have a picture taken.

She was looking down toward the goats, so it makes sense she didn't see it (if it was really there.)

The analyzer guy explained why he does not think it was something on or in the camera.

As for focus, since the photographer didn't see it, there is nothing to say how fast it was moving. You can take a picture with an airplane in the sky and have it not be blurry. And it can be in focus despite distance much the same way clouds appear in photos. This picture does not have a shallow depth of field.

I do not think it likely that it is really a UFO, but after reading the analysis and with trying to be objective, I have a hard time coming up with other possibilities.

Your analysis is sound, I just don't like single frame UFO's with a witness that saw nothing at the time. With no sense of duration, direction or speed and no back story from the photographer, this becomes just another image anomaly.

But it sure is a cool looking anomaly.

There was a UFO investigator on a panel discussion show and he suggested a useful question covering all of this - "if you see something unidentifiable in the sky is it really a vehicle from another world, or could there be a terrestrial explanation?"

    Flimflam.

I wish it was for real, I truly do, but, lol, come on.

Most UFO siting are by civilians who observe secret military test flights, or by neurotics who range from entertaining to should-be-on-meds.

What drew me to this story was the photographer and her husband being up front about not seeing anything in the sky as the photos were being taken.

Could it be a random splash of light from a piece of glass on the ground?

Part of me wants this to be real simply because this thing is so cool looking.

That's a pretty good thing to say. Too bad the object doesn't jibe with the rest of light and focus values in the photo. It's definitely alien, just not the extraterrestrial variety. :)

!! This thing has been spotted again, and we now have a clearer shot of it! It is definitely some kind of flying craft, and not some photographic anomaly. I am floored, this is really amazing. Even if it's military or otherwise from Earth it seems to be truly advanced technology. Just incredible. Here is an article about the sighting: http://www.usatoday.com/story/ondeadline/2012/10/14/flying-ship-seen-san-francisco/1687942/

EDIT: USA Today has REMOVED the article linked above. Other articles that I looked at are gone as well. Somebody does not want anyone to know about this and is covering it up!

Here is the picture taken by a resident who was working in a nearby office building. Fortunately he had a telephoto lens:
