I miss those tins, but it was a pain in the ass to get out the last of the Quik.
I also hate that they changed the name to NesQuik, I don't even see the reason why!
Nestle's was on a roll back in the late 80's and the 90's. They were buying up some of their major competitors like Carnation and Ralston Purina.
As the 20th century was drawing to a close Nestle's wanted to consolidate the names of popular products so they would be the same around the world. Those few countries, like the USA, using the "Nestle's Quik" name saw the product change to the global name "Nesquik" before the turn of the century.
Hey, at least it still tastes good to me.
1999 saw the corporation reintroduce the global "little nest" logo to the United States as part of Nestle's push to enter the 21st century with a strong brand identity tied to it's vey long history.
I can't find that corporate ad on youtube but here's the logo:
The Eldorado is dead. Long live the Eldorado.

I remember for a while back in the early 1980's when I was in high school (around 1982), HI-C was my breakfast "juice" and my mom always got it in those big cans. I don't think those little boxed drinks we see today were around yet back in the early 1980's.

Yeah, hi-c used to come in big gallon or half gallon or something cans, and you had to use one of those triangular can openers to open a pour spout & an air hole. (I always wanted to try jamming one of those oil spout things onto one, but I don't know if those are "safe", even before they're used for oil (ie, whether or not the factory uses any kind of packing oil or some such).)
I found a pic that gives an idea about the size of the cans:

I remember when I was 7-8 years old there wasn't an afternoon were I wouldn't have a nice glass of Quick with milk and a jam sandwich watching cartoons after school. Good times.

Nestle powder & hershey's syrup. Remember when the syrup came in a soup can & you had to pry a pouring hole & an air hole?
I had the nesquik cereal years ago, it was "ok" but cocoa puffs was way better (before they fucked it up with that "cocoa blasted" puff crap).

I remember when Quik came in SQUARE tin containers with the round metal lid you pried open. Nestle Quik chocolate milk was a VERY common breakfast staple throughout my childhood.
