The Trayvon Martin case 2

I've been staying away from this because, even in my late 30's, I was in situations involving law enforcement that could have gone very bad for me. Only recently, now that I'm showing my age, do I feel the bullseye off my back.
But I'm careful whenever I'm in public.

It still troubles me what I'm not seeing about this shooting.

George Zimmerman lives in a gated community and is involved with the Neighborhood Watch patrol. How common are Neighborhood Watch programs [u]inside[/u] gated neighborhoods?

If George Zimmerman was patroling inside his gated neighborhood at the Twin Lakes Townhome Complex, shouldn't he have known or recognized his neighbors, the Martins?

If he didn't know the Martins, isn't meeting your neighbors a requirement in order to join any Neighborhood Watch program?

Where is the map showing the location of Zimmerman's home, the Martin's home in relation to where Trayvon was shot? Did the Martin's live close enough to Zimmerman that maybe he knew them, yet never said so to the police?

Since the Twin Lakes Townhome neighborhood is a closed community, showing such a map would pose no burden on the residents.

There are certian basic facts that reporters aren't getting to and it bothers me.

What the media focuses on is very random. Black kids get kidnapped but the only kidnappings that make the national news are cute white kids. Especially if they're on vacation in Cancun.

There are absolutely many socioeconomic factors involved. Martin was hot-headed, to be very brief, a lot of black teenagers are. Why? Well that could fill a book. "You give a dog a bad name, people gonna chuck rocks at him. By and by he bite somebody, sure enough."

As someone who had a gun Zimmerman should not have instigated in the way he did. When consequences like death manifest, responsibility is magnified.

Ok don't know too many facts on this other than a black kid was killed by a white guy. I am not going to comment on the case itself but rather that the media is all over it primarily b/c a white dude killed a black kid. Why is this more sensational than the Christian newsom murders? It happened in the area that I live and didn't make the national headlines... A young white couple was kidnapped by 3 black men and 1 black woman. They were tortured, raped, and sodomized. The man was shot and his body burned. She suffered injuries to her vagina, anus and mouth. She was not only raped but savaged with "an object," possibly a broken chair leg. She was beaten in the head. Some type of chemical was poured down her throat, and her body, including her bleeding and battered genital area, likely scrubbed with the same solution - all while she was alive. She was then "hog-tied," with curtains and strips of bedding, her face covered tightly with a small trash bag and her body stashed inside five large trash bags before being placed inside a large trash can and covered with sheets. Channon died slowly, suffocating...

But of course the victims were white... No big deal.
