Dude. I could stomp you in Andy Griffith Trivia easily in my top 3 favorite sitcoms behind The Cosby Show and The King of Queens.

Since this is one of those TV shows I grew up with you would think that I would be a natural fan of the show. But I never developed a strong love for the show.

I will acknowledge that "The Andy Griffith Show" is well made and quite funny in some episodes. It goes without saying, The Andy Griffith Show was and still is a major hit and it still airs in some media markets today!

Thanks to the shows ties with The Danny Thomas Show and Danny's pull inside the entertainment industry at the time, Andy's show got top production value. I love all the outdoor shots in every episode and well done interior sets, gives the feel of being in a real house.

On of my favorite scenes goes back to season one/episode 2 where an escaped convict is tracked to the Mayberry area and Andy's police station becomes headquarters for the N.C. State Police.

This is the first time you see Otis the town drunk use the jailhouse keys and locks himself in his cell to the stunned horror of the Captain of the State Police!

Andy has to explain, "we just let him stay here and sleep it off, he'll be fine by this afternoon". That whole scene is so well done that it just kills me everytime I think about it.
The Eldorado is dead. Long live the Eldorado.
