Ron Paul: Political Savior, or Insane Piece of Crap?

Heading into the 2012 elections, things are going be quite polemic in the upcoming year (in the U.S., at least). At my university, I'm already seeing tons of pro-Paul propaganda all over campus, which inspired me to do a little investigative research pertaining to the Internet's favorite presidential hopeful.

As it turns out, Mr. Paul has quite a few skeletons in his closet, including publishing a newsletter in the early 90s with some, well, less than pleasant things to say about African Americans, touting an economic recovery plan that would take $1.1 trillion OUT of the nation's GDP, and advocating so many absurd proposals (adios CIA, hello privatized military, among others) that you have to wonder why anyone in their right mind would consider him worthy of running a Burger King, let alone commandeering the entire free world.

Alas, I'm all about letting people make up their own minds, so I'm posting the link below - that you totally don't have to click on, you know : )

    http://internetisinamerica.blogspot.com/2011/12/few-things-you-probably-didnt-know.html

So, I'm rather biased (towards logic) here, but what do you really think about Mr. Paul? Do you think he's the renegade politician the U.S. needs, or is he just another lunatic fringe kook?

I love the guy. Most of his so called insane proposals would never make it out of the House or Senate but many of his ideas are long over due. America is broke! Most people do not understand this simple fact and it's enormity. Politicians know this but lack the balls to do anything about it because entitlements buy votes. Our budget doesn't just need cutting it need gutting and Ron Paul is the only politician with the sac to do it.

Want 4 more years of Obama? Vote for Ron Paul. He would get slapped around like he was Dave Pelzer in the debates. He may win the young vote, but he will lose with likely voters. Like the 2008 election many republicans would just stay home. His ideas about cutting the military as well as his drug and abortion stance is not going well with republicans. His ideas about cutting the government is not going well with liberals. While Paul has some great ideas he has zero chance of winning.

I've been hearing rumors that Ron Paul might run on a 3rd party ticket. Although he would still have no chance of winning if he does, he would probably steal a lot of the youth vote away from Obama.

Well longshots pay off occasionally. You still didn't post on the actual topic which means you aren't on retrojunk for any reason other than to plug your blog.

Seriously, you think b/c you have a bunch of articles that means something? Listen as far as articles go you have very good articles. You are consistent on good articles as well. I've told you that myself. However you like to make it sound to the world outside of RJ that you are a writer for RJ. Anyone can post articles on here so I don't think it makes sense to mention that as credentials unless you are trying to make yourself sound like more of a writer than you are. Then you come to the forums just to plug your blog. Like I said I enjoy your articles on here, but really when it comes to the forum you aren't really contributing.
