Yeah, socialism would be pretty nice. I don't think economic system will last forever, and capitalism one day will die out and superseded by another system.
40% of American wealth is controlled by 1% of the population, 90% controlled by 10% of the population. That, in no way, shape or form, is fair and I don't care how hard Warren Buffet worked for his money.
That's all I'll say.
I think a better solution would be to educate our people better. Our current education system was designed when most Americans worked on farms and in factories. Its no surprise that most Americans today come out of high school not being qualified for much more than a factory type job. Many go to college, but most don't make it. It's no surprise that the top 10% of a class in a high school also generally become the most successful as adults. The opportunities are there to make money, but most people don't have the knowledge to make it happen. Capitalism and a free market means ANYONE can be successful. Look at all the foreigners that come here and become rich.
The socialist solution is the spread the wealth where the 10% making the most money are essentially supporting most of the government programs. It isn't fair and there is little incentive to succeed. The fear of being poor and the dreams of what they could have is what makes people work. When you give people the essentials regardless if they work or not, there is little incentive for them to work. Most people are happy with very little when it is free. This is why so many people are on welfare and have been for generations. They are broke, but don't work because they don't want to lose what is free. Socialism makes people lazy.
So my solution is to improve education, have the top 10% write the text books and teach the next generation how to be successful. The world will be a better place for everyone.
