I was lucky enough to see a BUNCH of animated movies in theaters when I was little, many of them with my friends too. The Care Bears Movie (1985) (think I was almost 4) Care Bears Movie II (1986) My Little Pony: The Movie (1986) Rainbow Brite & the Star Stealer Bambi Cinderella Alice in Wonderland Lady & the Tramp 101 Dalmatians An American Tail The Chipmunk Adventure (1987) The Land Before Time Oliver & Company Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (198 All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989) are the ones I remember seeing for sure. A lot of the Disney ones were from a kids summer film festival the theater was having in '86. I still remember it very well... holding on to the ticket book and looking at what each day's movie or double feature was going to be while waiting for the movie to start, and my friends there with me. They are good memories. : )

darthmunk 1 year 5 months ago Posts: 6701	I think my first movie in the theater was Mortal Kombat in 1995. I would have been 5 years old. I'm not 100% sure if it's the first one but I can't think of any earlier than that. We played the games on SNES since they were released so we were super pumped to see it. Me, my Dad, my brother, and my cousin all went and I loved it.

I swear I saw that in theaters or either Oliver and Company or American Tale. I remember seeing these in the theaters, but for hte life of me can't get an idea as to what year each film was.

The Flintstones more so because it was one of my first experiences with some real jerks, talking and screaming at various parts of the movie.

My cousin Tracy (yes, the same one who took me to see Aladdin at the Regal Cinema Seven, now known as the University of Northwestern Ohio Event Center, four years earlier - see the first post I've made in this thread) took us to a drive-in theatre in Kenton, about a few miles northeast of Lima to see Twister and Independence Day, in that exact order. I remember there being a couple of vintage drive-in ads in between the two movies, and I remember going into the concession building with my older sister, remembering they had a couple of video-game machines in there. I even remember us entering the drive-in about three quarters into Twister, and leaving there about halfway (I think) into Independence Day.

I don't care what anyone says. It's a good movie. Sure, it's cheesy, but I seriously doubt that it was made to win a bunch of awards.

I was only curious about my first "remembered" movie. I don't remember seeing ET given my age when I saw it. I wasn't even a full year old yet, but it is my first movie in the theater. So, based on that list, I guess my first remembered movie would be Heathcliffe: The Movie.

From about this time through the 1990s, my mom took me to see all those Disney re-releases. I used to think back then as a kid that Disney was an old movie company that no longer made movies. Of course if you think about it, all those movies were re-released in those years with little or no new stuff. Re-issues I remember seeing were: Pinocchio Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Cinderella Peter Pan Bambi Sleeping Beauty 101 Dalmatians From researching all the 1980s re-releases on imdb, looks like it probably was Pinocchio.
