What was the first movie you remember seeing in a theater?

In my case, it was Return of the Jedi (or so I think). I was about 5 and since then Star Wars changed my life.

I also have vague memories of things like "The Gods must be Crazy" and other movies I did see in a theater when they were new. Goonies, The Never Ending Story, Ghost Busters (I really liked that one, I had to sit on the floor cause the theater was so full).

I saw ET a few years later after it was released, in a auto cinema (hahahah kinda miss those).

    Good times...

Jurassic Park back in 1993. I probably saw other movies before, but I don't remember them, plus JP really impressed me as no other movie at the time, I was only 7 years old.

Does "theater" include drive-ins? The first movie that I can be certain of a general date for was one I saw at a drive-in when I was about 5, "convoy".
The first one I can affix to a certain timeframe from a walk-in theater was disney's peter pan, when I was 6.

I was familiar with star wars when I was 5, but I can't be certain if I saw it in a theater or if it had been on the ABC weekend movie or somesuch (this would have been after the first movie came out, but just before empire strikes back). Likewise, I saw disney's cinderella &robin hood at a very early age, but can't recall exactly when or how (I just know it wasn't on video, since I hadn't even -heard- of a VCR until years later).

Summer School was the first movie I remember watching in the theaters. My cousin took me and the funny part was I was 8 or 9 and it was a pg-13 movie. LOL i can't remeber what I thought was cooler watching the movie or that I was breaking the rules :)

Aladdin (1992). I was 5 and my cousin Tracy took us to see it at the Regal Cinema Seven, now an event center owned and operated by a nearby local college.

The original Star Wars, I believe. Not in 1977, but a few years after.

The Little Mermaid was my first but I most remember going to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with my father when I was 5.

The Little Mermaid when I was 4 in 1989. I remember it was at the Westwood Town Center General Cinemas (now AMC) in Rocky River, OH The movie was great from what I could remember however Ursula scared the shit out of me.

Well I think I've finally figured it out after really drilling my brain ironnically enough it was Disneys Robin Hood. What threw me off was that, that came out in "73" but I remember watching it in a theater on a field trip in "85" with a summer camp center. Must've been a special screening or something that day weird.
