This is a very interesting episode that features both the Nerd and the guest star Pat the NES Punk, battling it out to win both the grey and the gold cartridges of the super-rare Nintendo World Championship game cart.

It's also good that he decided to have Pat the NES Punk guest star in this video since the Nerd also appeared in Pat's videos on where he receives the Nintendo World Championship cart, but then it gets stolen and he hunts out to find it.

Best review the Nerd has done for awhile. I like it when he has a change of pace and does something different than just a game review. He was actually here in Seattle to premier this episode at the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) video game show and do a Q&A session with the audience, but I wasn't able to attend due to the tickets selling out months ago. Here's a video of it on YouTube:

I remember reading awhile back on Pat the NES Punk's website how he acquired that gray Nintendo World Championship cart...but I had no idea he had the gold one as well. That one cart is worth more than James Rolfe's entire video game collection...you could easily get around $20,000 for it.

I heard The Nerd made customized cartridges so he can destroy those rather than the real ones.

I'm not turning these expensive ass video games into a god damn English muffin.

In all seriousness, this is the first AVGN I've watched in a long time. Not bad.

The fact that the game sucks is actually good. Normally you have to decide between keeping a game pristine to maintain it's value, or playing it & enjoying it. Having a good game with a low value & a collectible game that sucks is perfect. (...even if you can't understand whyTF it's collectible when it sucks.)
