    "The wizard of Oz".

As a white girl from the countryside, and not a black girl from the city, I maybe should prefer the 1939 "classic" over "The Wiz", but I just don't. It was just so painfully boring. "The wiz" might have bombed at the box office, and some people (including its director and others involved in it) call it a a disaster. But how can you go wrong with a young Michael Jackson as the cutest scarecrow ever? It also had cooler songs and more action than the 1939 "classic". Not to mention how I can relate to Diana Ross's version of Dorothy, who was a 24-year-old, whose life never seemed to go anywhere. But the 1939 movie is just meh in my opinion.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Proof that if you dab into 80s and/or 90s nostalgia and not really care about your story, everyone on the Internet will claim it's a movie that no one understood but them because it's a fun movie with compelling characters, and if you don't get this movie and not like [insert video game/anime reference/non sequential line here], then you have no taste in movies.

I totally agree with these last two. I've never been able to get into the '39 film of the Wizard of Oz, I prefer the electronic music version Mort Garson and Jacques Wilson released as an album in the 60's under the title The Wozard of Iz featuring Suzi Jane Hokom as Dorothy and I signed out Scott Pilgrim vs. The World from my local library and wound up switching it off after about 15 minutes.

Caddyshack - It's just not funny. I don't know why, because most of the people in the movie have been in some classic stuff like Mary Tyler Moore Show, Ghostbusters, and the like. They just don't mesh together. It's a perfect example of talking about something over and over for years. Pretty soon, people are thinking the movie is funny and classic, when in reality, it isn't. It's completely boring and bland.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: "Pulp Fiction" bored me. Many proclaimed it to be action-packed, thrilling, riveting and other plaudits. I was just bored. It seemed like there was more talking than killing. If I'm watching an action movie, I don't want to hear lengthy talks about TV shows and hamburgers. I want action.

I can't believe that I forgot Pulp Fiction. Yet another HUGE case of a movie being talked about that it's really cool and action packed and smart....when it's really not. Overhyped, bland, boring, simple, and completely cliched. There wasn't anything original in it at all. It's not the cool movie that everyone makes it out to be. It's really just a case of people saying they like it just because everyone else seems to be talking about it and they don't want to be left out. With those kinds of bad movies, I just steer clear after the first time or two of viewing. It's exactly why I hate the Buffy tv show. It was written with the characters using sharp, snarky, involved dialogue that real teens would never use in a million years.

I am not in the group who likes pulp Fiction because my friends do. The movie was original, intelligent and flat out good in my opinion. Nonone is going to like the same stuff.

Diana Ross look much older and in fact was much older than 24 when that movie was made which is part of the reason it was panned the way it was.

The character of Dorothy is suppose to be a young girl.

Personally, the Wiz was the most boring movie I've ever seen. Oh well, to each their own.

    - Sorry, but I have a hard time taking any preachy shit seriously when it comes from a sleazeball who wipes his ass with money, has a contingent of servants and expects the average American to be held to a higher standard than himself.

Amen and as a biologist, I can tell you how wrong Al Gore is and most of the crap they tell you about global warning...but I'll hold my tongue.

ATM, I can't recall too many movies I thought were overrated, but here's two:

    -Bowling for Columbine
