Parents blaming everyone but themselves

One thing I hate is when kids do something and the parents blame everyone but themselves

I am sick of parents whining and suing the video game or movie industry or whatever because their kid did something stupid. Hello there is a reason why video games and movies are rated if they are under the age range don't buy the game for them, it's common sense you don't buy mortal kombat or gta for a nine year old if the game is rated m (17 and up) you don't take a six year old to a rated r movie (I know this was mentioned in another thread using it as an example) People if you are going to blame someone you also have to take responsibility if someone ele bought the game for the kid (look at it to see whats going on) if it's a movie check out information about the movie before the kid has a chance to see it. i know there are other examples but I figured I would use the best known example.

I can even give an example on how it should be

My aunt was getting her grandson (who was six at the time) some psp games and the place tried to get her to buy some m rated game my aunt was like "are you joking, my grandson is only six he's too young for that game?" (sorry I forgot what the m rated game was)

I agree with you but the thing is that ignorance and people with their noses in the air will not know to blame themselves for the actions of their children.

BTW. I love your Sailor Saturn gif!

Parents don't want to take the responsibility, they want someone else to do it.

Check out this article. Who's to blame here? TV or the parents?

A mixture of both parts. I mean the parents aren't urging children to go outside and enjoy playing, riding bikes, walking. The TV just makes everything else worse. The skinnier you are the hotter you are; except that if you want to be like Twiggy or Heidi Klum, it's acutally gross in reality.

It's funny; in one breath people bitch and moan that kids are too fat nowadays, then they turn around and bitch that kids shouldn't feel like they need to lose weight.

I guess you're right. Not everything is the parents' fault.

Parents like those let videogames raise their children. They buy their kids a game so they won't have to care about spending time with them. They're not playing their role as parents.

That's bullshit. I grew up when McDonald's made no secret of directly advertising their greasy food to me, and I'm perfectly fine. Learn to control your kids yourself, assholes.

I agree, but it's always been like this, not just today. Even in the early or middle of the 1980s parents had a meeting to ban inappropriate albums covers to songs from metal and rock bands like Twisted Sister and Ozzy Osbourne to name a couple. Just because a kid commited suicide to a subliminal message in Ozzy Osbourne's song it got parents all riled up.

Oh and another thing, how can people not control themselves when listening to these kinds of music? I mean, you listen to some heavy metal song and suddenly you have the urge to punch someone in the face...or much worse. It's so weird.

Parents whine about everything from TV shows to video games to music.

    South Park
    Beavis and Butt-Head
    Duke Nukem
    Jackass
    DOOM
    Marilyn Manson
    Eminem
    50 Cent
    Grand Theft Auto

Those are some of the big ones I can remember, but then again, they've even complained about Super Mario and the Teletubbies for Christ sake.

whiny parents are funny as hell. i go on the imdb boards to read threads about the movies i like from time to time, and even in the board discussions for kids movies there's at least one parent complaining.

look at this thread about Gremlins:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087363/board/thread/125843734?d=125843734&p=1#125843734

i saw gremlins between the age of 4 and 7. just because the parent got scared when they were little, they made damn sure to fast forward through that one part lmao. what kind of shit is that? they act like the damn movie traumatized them for life.

but this thread about The Wizard takes the cake:
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098663/board/nest/79342162

excessive cursing? i don't remember a single part in that movie where they curse once, so if they do, how is it even noticeable?

more and more sheltered kids..the next generation is gonna be a bunch of pussies.

The 80s were all about making kids in movies more true to life. So there was cussing, kids bullying each other, vandalism and yes even kids smoking and drinking at times. A movie like Stand By Me would never fly today.

Sadly kids in today's movies are fake much of the time. In the 80s kids were allowed to act like real kids. Despite parents delusions, kids curse, they're mean to each other and they do things that their parents could never imagine them doing. Why would you leave this out of a movie that is trying to be true to life? What so it doesn't get an R rating? So over protective parents will be happy?

You're right iHateYourMoustache. This next generation of kids is going to be full of emotionally fragile individuals. I feel so sorry for what is in store for them.

Don't forget Mortal kombat that's what started the video game rating system.

smh. parents nitpick at the smallest details. if a friend of mine, or my wife told me my little pony might be too scary for my kid, i'd tell them to man up.

the next generation of school bullies are gonna have a field day with all of these pansies in training. i wonder why parents don't think about things like that. they're so busy trying to give their kids this false "everything is good and positive" upbringing just to keep them from seeing and experiencing the bad in life? how the hell are these kids gonna toughen up if they never experience anything harsh?

none of them will have normal healthy adult lives, and that's the saddest part.
