Parents closing off their kids due to fear

Ok...the article about the stupid soccor mom that is sueing Chuck-E-Cheese got me thinking.

Ya know, when I was a kid, I flung myself in mud, rain, dirt, and anything else and my mom would just make me change my clothes in the garage before stepping in the house.

Now a days, kids are almost forbidden to even go outside at dusk. What's the point of locking your child up in the house just because you are scared of what's outside? I understand that being a parent is one thing but being a absolute obessessor of paranoia and not letting your kid be a kid, just pisses me off to no end.

That's a main cause as to why kids are so fat these days. When I was little, I was lucky if I was able to get into a new pair of jeans because theyw ould be so big. I would stay out until the street lights came on and that was normally around 9:45 in the summer time. I woudl climb trees, play football and get tackled into the ground with grass stains and mud. I would have scrapes, cuts, bruises from falling off of my bike or just flying out of the swings at the park.

These parents are making their kids reclusive and never want to explore the outside world while they still have the chance. Given, computers and cell phones aren't helping at all. I saw a kid the other day walking, by themselves with their phone in their hand, texting. Where's the bikes? friends? the notion to go out and explore? These parents refuse to let their child outside beacuse of the "uknown". When they were kids all they ever did was fucking go outside and play in the dirt. How come they won't give the oppertunity to their child? It's hipocritical. Kids are suppose to be kids; not some being that only goes out when they are told and not to go far because of the fear.

I've had it with the fear and the constant articles about bullshit drama and paranoia that is suppose to reel you in and scare you to no end. When you are a kid, you are suppose to get hurt, get dirty, messy, sticky whatever have you.

Here's another thing: Don't try and tell the world that you think that some establishment contributes to gambling and try to compare to actual problems in the real world. I went to places like that D-Z, Putt-Putt, Chuck Cheeses and I played skeeball the spinner game and everything else and I have no problem with gambeling (acutally i think it's a waste of money but that's my opinion). Quit treating your child like they are better than everyone else. Also quit trying to bleed the fucking companies dry by taking so much money for somethin that is so petty.

    ARRRRGH!

......ok, I'm done with my rant. What do you guys think? Please tell me that I'm not alone in thinking this.

When i was a kid there were some kids in my clas whose parents refused to allow them to learn about sex. The rest of us thought it was fucking hilarious.

It's especially stupid when they forbid their kids to go out even if they live in new, rich, and very safe neighborhoods. If we were talking about major cities or crime-ridden areas, yeah, I could see where letting your child out at night would be a stupid thing to do  I even remember playing outside with the other kids and the fun would always be interrupted near sundown because one of the other kid's parents didn't want them to be "hurt".

Where I use to live, it was very safe. I would have to come home when the street lights came on and that was usually around 9:30 10:00 and this was when I was 10. I would ride my bike home. If I wasn't going to be home around that time, i woudl call my mom and dad and tell them where I am (usually was at a friends house).

I just read an article today about a new mom and dad that won't release the sex of their child. The fucking grandparents don't even know about the kid's sex. How fucking stupid is that. They have one boy who is confused since he wears girls clothes and I mean pink and girly stuff. He's 5. usually boys his age would do anything to get dirty and into things that guys do.

Parents should lose their kids over that crap. The sick parent probably get off on dressing him like a girl. The people wonder why so many teens are confused. I don't want to start a debate so I'll shut up now.

What I got from the article was the reason for them not telling anyone the sex is because they wouldn't want the child to be exposed to the ridcule of being a boy or girl (getting big, muscular for boys and being tiny and pretty for girls). It doesn't matter if you raise your boy as a girl or girl as a boy, the thing is they are going to be expose to crap like this and pressured even more to be even prettier than most girls or better than most boys. It doesn't matter anymore; no kid can escape the pressure of being perfect either from other peers or parents.

It's those small pedos that ruin it for everyone. Pedophiliac rape has been rampant even in retro days, and people seem to think that just because of a few that have been caught it means that every kid that isn't on a leash will get kidnapped and raped.
Pedos have been around for a long time. We're just better at catching them/
