Yo, guys. So, I was thinking of writing an article about one of my favorite cartoons of all time. Samurai Jack. BUT I wanted to get everybody's consent first for I do not want to be flamed out of here and be blasted with "oh, that's not retro enough", "that's from the 2000's! Get the **** out of here!". So, I figured since it's 2011 and the show first aired in 2001 i figure it's not that retro but it's definitely old enough, right? I'm getting ahead of myself here. What do you guys think? Should I or Should I not write an article about Samurai Jack? Thanks.

Actually, Samurai Jack came out in 2001, which was indeed 10 years ago.

But even so, no I wouldn't consider Samurai Jack retro in the very least.

Write whatever you feel like writing. If we all had to ask for the consent of the majority, the only thing anyone would talk about is video games....or maybe never knowing the touch of a woman.

In most retrojunk circumstances the former directly relates to the latter

the article crowd plays fast and loose with what they deem retro or not, just write it well and it'll be fine...or down-voted into the backpages, just the luck of the draw

Knites wrote a good article on article writing i would give this a look

Considering all the other irrelevant nonsense that gets posted on this site, post away. It will be a nice change of pace from all the virgin fodder you'd normally find.

eh, im probably a bit younger than the average person on this site (im 25). But id say at this point in time you could argue that "retro" is anything before 9/11.

I would write it if I were you,but don't be suprised if people start bashing your article because it's about something from the 2000s. It happened to me. It's seem we're a minority here considering stuff from the early 2000s retro. In my opinion though, I say if it's atleast 10 years old, why can't it be retro?

If you ask me, any decent early 2000s animated series that didn't last really long on TV should be deemed retro to me, but I'd give the series another year or two to be honest.

Seems to me that some people here likes to get old to fast. Kids, I know retro is kinda cool but let time have its way to build sufficient background to fall back. Ten years? you're gonna fall headlong to oblivion.

Well, that all depends on you.
But to me I feel like, come on people it's been 10 years.
    If it's a decade old = retro.

So I'm guessing the 9th and 12th centuries are retro enough it makes our heads spin.

I guess when you're 15, 10 years might seem retro.

The big question is: why do so many high school kids give a shit what is retro? Why aren't they going out and doing high school things like smoking weed and sneaking their girlfriend off to the abortion clinic?
