    Hey guys,

Ok first off, I havent really followed wrestling in about 5-6 yrs so, forgive me if I messed up some names and dont know all the plots and storylines as of late. And furthermore, this is just an opinion im throwing out there, dont be too harsh, I'm just commenting on what I see.

So for the past 2 weeks, Ive been following RAW. Now, through working with kids, and them basically starting off around the time I stopped watching, I know some of the big stars : Cena, Orton etc. some not all. Anywho, lets move on.

Now I know alot of people have a problem Miz and Cena. I can honestly say, I see why. I mean they have the look , Cena has the build... but I think the problem is, is that they dont have A CHARACTER. Think about it: Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, Jake the Snake etc etc. They were all characters. Larger than life characters. Cena and Miz, well they practially play themselves. I dont see a gimmick from either. Actually to be honest, I see a gimmick more from Miz than I see from Cena. I look at Miz as trying to imitate Ted Dibiase, only a small time version. Part of what made wrestling so great when I was little wasnt the necessary the storylines, It was the characters and the way the wrestkers protrayed them. I mean cmon, the energy was there when Hogan and Macho cut their promos. I just dont feel that from alot of these guys. for crying out loud, half of them dress like theire in a freaking Nickelback video!

I think the one good character in recent years that was let go was The Boogeyman. When I saw Boogeyman, i would think this is the kind of character that makes wrestling fun. Very reminsent of gimmicks like Papa Shango, Headshrinkers, Kamala etc. Those are the fun ones to watch and he really sold his character well.

As for the storylines. Well, a feud is a feud, but think about Brutus The Barber and Jake the Snake. Their trademark hair cut and python. Does anybody have anything like that now? I didnt see it on Raw, on SD! maybe? Believe it or not, I actually enjoy the feud between Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler, that is a feud like you woud have back in the good ole days. I dont see much reason for feuds happening in the other storylines, it just seems they happen out of thin air. For example, Rock and Cena are supposed to be at it, but then they are attacked by Nexus, who is in turned challenged by APPLE? Then Rock isnt on Raw, but not the feud is between Miz, Cena and R-Truth?! I dont get it. Where does that leave Rock? Theres no segway to a feud its just ok lets have a match. And, forgive me I didnt see Wrestlemania, but They coulda really done something with HBK. I mean the way he was dogged by Undertaker and HHH the Raw before Wm, left an opening for a feud or a screwjob.

ANd as for The Rock. WHat can I say, Rock is cool, i used to look up to him in high school, wanted to be just like him. Ladys love him, he has the talent, the look the gimmick and so on. But imo, hes lost a bit of charisma. Why? Not because he was off 7yrs doing movies. Its because for most of those 7yrs he was Dwayne Johnson. WHen Hulk Hogan did Suburban Commando and No Holds Barred and Mr. Nanny, he never went on saying he wanted to be known as Terry Bollea. Never. He stayed Hulk Hogan. He stayed his character, because he knew thats what made him a star. Rock forgot that. He forgot thats what got him his roles. I understand why he did it, sort of, but I still feel he shoulda stayed The Rock, especially if he kne he was coming back to wrestling.

And that goes for all the superstars. The fans have been allowed to get to know the wrestlers more. They are closer to them now, and when you see them as regualr people outside the ring, thats when they lose their mystique.

Well guys Ive rambled on for a while now, let me know what you think. Again, Im not trying to start arguments or anything, just commenting on what I see going on.
