Sounds like the fetus was eavesdropping on the conversation and somehow leapt inside the womb.

Actually I know men and women who have been doctors for 20+ year and have never seen a case of pregnancy due to rape or incest. Not saying it doesn't happen, but on an extremely small scale. I also know women who were told that if they didn't have an abortion they would die and have a healthy child b/c they didn't believe the doc. I'm sure thats not always the case. But lets be honest a vast majority of women that have these abortions have them b/c they don't want to deal with having a kid. Don't try to act like you are doing this b/c you have priorities. No I am not a misogynist. Should I label you as a child hater b/c of your views?

You never answered the questions. You just dodged the questions. And I don't hate children. I just don't like them. They're fine if they belong to someone else, because they eventually go away.

Nor do I hate women. Try being logical in your insults. As far as answering (which I did you just didn't like it). Rape/incest- No. Women being told they will die- I don't think the abortion should happen right away as I said I know of more than one woman who was told this and still had the kid. If the mother is actually dying b/c of it, I don't think she should die b/c of it. And at that point I doubt the child is even alive anyway so it wouldn't be an abortion.

exactly where in the bible does it specifically say that abortion is a sin?

a lot of conservatives base their opinions on christian values. i know it directly says you cannot murder, but abortion cannot clearly be defined as murder by any one person. does it ever specifically say someone who has not been born is alive and considered a human being, therefore abortion is murder?

In the New Testament, when John the Baptist was in his mother's womb, he heard Mary the mother of Christ telling his mother that she was pregnant with Jesus and he lept for joy.

That just sounds like someone is happy. (In the most violent book ever written by man.)

I thought adults argued rationally. I remember that argument in high school. It carries no weight. If a child can experience joy in the womb it is a living creature.

... you mean the baby was kicking?

Thats not what it says... If you want to believe it means that you can interpret it that way, but it says he lept with joy.

How about this? How about we discuss things that we have actually studied in depth? That way we don't have to throw a bunch of one liners around that we heard as children.

Right I can tell you are really studied on the topic. Fan of Dawkins are we? You still didn't address the fact that you said planned parenthood doesn't do abortions and there website says otherwise.

OR we could leave the Bible out now. You answered finch's question, that is probably enough, there's no need to struggle so hard to get the last word in. Start a new thread about the Bible, maybe.

What was your view on gay marriage?

I think they should be allowed to be married.

Then don't respond. There are plenty of subforums where people talk retro stuff, this on is for "real world" stuff. (politics, etc)

I am. I don't think the government should or could ban a gay lifestyle, but I don't agree with them recognizing a homosexual couple being married. I mean people bash Christian for legistlating morality, but if they were to do this then they are legislating morality as well.

I have friends who have been in relationships for quite some time. They even said they wouldn't want to get married. I asked them if it was the fear of being chastized, they said no. It was because they already have everything they want, why rub in people's faces who do not approve of it.

You can't always expect people to go with the flow on things. This topic and the previous one will ALWAYS be the top 2 concerns with American politics. With aruging points whether they are good or bad, won't change the fact about others. Some people refuse change based on ignorance or the lack of the will while some will get to understand and accept things as they are. Honestly I don't care either way; if a gay/lesbian couple wants to get married, awesome; if not, then that's fine. This is another topic, I believe that shouldn't even matter with society. Why would you want to bring up your personal life to have a such a degrading response?

here's something to think about: If majority of the population was gay or lesbian (like today we have heterosexuality) and one couple wanted to get married but wasn't of the same sex, would the same reaction be applied?

I believe so. Also bi-sexual folks would have more scrutiny over it because of liking both homo and hetero sexual relationships.
