Looks like the project has been green lit. Chloe Moretz has signed on to join Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's 'Dark Shadows'.

The original has a cult following for it's themes, moody atmosphere and popular characters. What I find interesting though is that Johnny Depp has admitted to having an obsession with the series and as a child wanted to be Barnabas Collins, who's character he will be playing as in the movie.

I've seen a few episodes of the original and hopefully this will turn out nicely.

Johnny Depp has to be Tim Burton movies; I think they fit his personality.

He even admitted that he gets really into his characters and portrays them without the camera.

I don't usually find his stories engaging but I do like the atmosphere he produces with his films.

I heard Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are getting married to each other. No but seriously, why the hell is Johnny Depp in almost every single Tim Burton movie? I'm starting to think they're gettin gay with each other.

Seems like the Captain's compass is still at hand.

Burton better not fuck it up. Specially with the gothic atmosphere.

The trailer is out for the movie, I was a bit surprised about the change to the feel of the movie, I was thinking more dark and moody. I'll still watch it but probably not in the theater, still looks entertaining though.

That happened years ago with everything after Sleepy Hollow.

I admire Tim Burton's filmmaking style, but when he made the live action Alice in Wonderland, I kinda gave up on him.

The little respect I had for him has been slipping away like an emo-girl tears ever since.

Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter seem to be a package deal these days. I appreciate when directors are loyal to their crew but just like my perspective of Woody Allen films it eventually becomes a "different note of the same tune" vibe. I'm not saying it can't be entertaining I just know Burton, like Allen, has personality issues that might be pigeon holding his visions because he is affraid to work with others he isn't comfortable with.
