Personally, I feel the 45 has more stopping power, but the 9mm has better penetration.

Shotgun would probably be best for that, or maybe an AK-47

Get a .357 SIG. They're pricey but they have more stopping power than a 9mm with better penetration than a 45.

How's the ammo pricing? Thats one big plus for the 9mm.

Get yourself some 9mm +P+ 147 Grain Jacketed Hollow Points, that oughta do the trick.

Buffalo Bore, 24.49 for a box of 20. Kinda pricey, but what's money if you wanna make sure they're dead?

I actually don't really need anything for home defense. I've got a 380 in the nightstand and a 16 gauge in the closet. Either of them will serve the purpose. I have found myself wanting something bigger to take to the range though. Cheap shells=more shooting which is why I'm liking the 9mm.

9mm is great for range shooting. The .357 Sig is an all around great round. Father in law is a cop and .357 Sig is his favorite. But like I said just for range shooting only, you can't beat a 9mm! I would say that while personally I like the .380 for concealed carry (yes I have a permit) I'd prefer something else for home defense. This is where the .357 Sig would come in handy...

The 380 is about perfect for CC. Although, the 9mm I'm looking into is the Bersa BPCC9. It's actually the same size as my 380, so it would have CC, range and home defense covered.

Have you looked into Ruger's new LC9? Bersa is a great gun, but my personal preference leans towards Ruger. I love my LCR and my sister just bought a LCP. Right now I am itching for a Kimber, but the budget won't allow it!

That Bersa is a sweet looking gun though... My friend bought a Bersa Thunder. I like the way it looks, feels and shoots except for the first trigger pull. It is way longer than the other trigger pulls and typically I can't get anywhere near the target...

My 380 is the Bersa Thunder and I've been really pleased with it over the years. That's partially why I'm looking into another Bersa. For the price, they seem to be damn good. I'm still looking though. I'll take a look at the Ruger.

For the price, its hard to beat the Bersa Thunder. We have a dealer in our are that has the LCP for the same price which is odd. He basically does it to draw people in to look at his higher end guns. What finish is the slide on your Bersa?

The entire gun is blued. I bought the thing about ten years back. Think I paid $150 for it new, which is ridiculous.

With the right bullets both will be equally effective. I always use hollow points when I kill anime.

Wow... I wish guns were still that cheap. Thanks to our current administration causing a major panic gun and ammo prices have soared.
