What about books like "A Child Called It"? The F word is used and the decription of the abuse he suffered from his mother is very graphic. Instead of try to shelter kids; these parents need to sit down and explain the realities of life.

You guys are all forgetting that these books don't feature a nasty, dreaded, two-syllable word.

They need to censor Harry Potter. 450 blank pages.

This is outrageous, why the fuck do editors want to mess with the classics. Classic novels should be left alone.

I suppose they'll want to censore Of Mice And Men as well? removing these sterotypes and words is pretty much denying that nothing bad has happened in our history.

This is definitely a cultural sacrilege. Taking something from or omitting from any intellectual work makes ZERO sense.

It's like deciding to introduce Coca Cola to an indigenous tribe in south america. But the tribe has a severe superstitious aversion to high fructose corn syrup and caramel. Even though the ingredients are harmless, they still hate it. So the business people decide to take out the high fructose corn syrup and caramel. But then it's no longer Coca Cola. See what I'm getting at? Take away ANYTHING from that book and it's no longer that book. It's pointless.

That's the most intelligent thing you ever said. Besides the location of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Look what happened when George Lucas changed Star Wars. It just fucked it up and made it worse. He didn't censor it, but he still fucked it up.
