I found this on IMDB: "When any of the following common events occur during an episode of the "Super Mario Bros Super Show", take one sip or eat a piece of candy: *Mario eats (in the cartoon or in live-action). *Luigi chickens out. *The Princess expresses deep concern for someone or something. *Toad makes a joke. *Toad squeaks when struck, squeezed, or falling to the ground. *Toad displays a short temper or is otherwise a loose cannon. *Live-action Mario and Luigi make complete fools of themselves in front of the guest stars. *King Koopa assumes an alter-ego with costume. *Mouser is Koopa's second-in-command. *The Koopa Troopas screw up royally. *An obscure pop-culture reference appears. *The good guys exclaim in unison an enemy or danger that they encounter (i.e. "It's a Cobrat!", "It's a Fryguy!" *King Koopa monologues or laughs evilly. *King Koopa hurls plumbing or pasta-related insults towards the Mario brothers (two if the insults come from Koopa's henchmen). *King Koopa and his henchmen use plumbing or pasta-related euphemisms to death and killing the good guys. *The Mario brothers use plumbing tools (plungers and drain-snakes) as weapons. *The Mario brothers use plumbing or food-related interjections ("Holy ravioli!" "Sufferin' spumoni!" *The Mario brothers use plumbing or pasta-related metaphors. *The Mario brothers use a power-up to defeat Koopa and his army. *The good guys toss vegetables (or anything else) at the bad guys. *King Koopa uses a warp zone to escape. *An animation error is observed. *The episode ends with everyone laughing. *The episode ends with Mario eating. *Link says "Excuuuuuuuuse me, Princess!" in the Legend of Zelda preview scenes. These occur less frequently. Take two sips or eat two pieces of candy when: *The Princess is actually kidnapped by Koopa and is the subject of rescue (believe it or not, this is not too common in SMBSS). *The Princess or Toad uses a power-up to defeat the bad guys. *Toad removes his "cap". *A cartoon is not based on anything pop-culture. *The good guys do not use power-ups to defeat Koopa or his henchmen. *Someone other than Mario or Luigi saves the day (take one more sip if it's a one-shot character). *A relative of any of the main characters, including King Koopa, appears. *Any character, good or bad, cross-dresses. *Any of the good guys appear in a different costume (as opposed to the bad guys, who appear in different costumes almost every episode). *King Koopa is not the main antagonist of an episode. *King Koopa does not assume an alter-ego. *King Koopa argues or tussles with another villain. *When enemies other than Mouser, the Shy Guys, and the Koopa Troopas appear in an episode. *Guest stars in the live-action episodes are never seen in person (but in full-body costume). *An alcoholic reference appears, albeit changed. *Mario says "Cooper" instead of "Koopa". *A dated reference or technology is mentioned or shown (i.e. car phones and the USSR). *A voicing error is observed. *No incidental music plays over a scene. *Incidental music not based on a Super Mario Bros. theme plays. When any of these extremely rare events occur, take a big swig or eat a handful of candy: *Any character in the cartoon, good or bad, breaks the fourth wall. *An episode takes place in outer space. *One live-action Mario brother kisses the other on the cheek (it's an European tradition). *Live-action Luigi is referred to as "Luigi Mario". *When the characters forget that they can swim underwater. *Mario actually refuses food. *Toad does not squeak when hit, squeezed, or falls to the ground. *King Koopa does not appear in an episode (happens once). *An episode takes place in the real-world Earth. *A live-action episode does not have a guest star. *King Koopa refers to the good guys by their actual names. *The good guys don't defeat King Koopa in the end (happens once). *King Koopa comes close to actually killing any of the good guys. *Mario has a secondary role in an episode. *Celebrities or other non-Mario-universe fictional characters are referred to by their actual names instead of parodies of their names. *A subtle sexual innuendo is heard or observed. *A trademarked brand name is mentioned (Drano). *When an episode exhibits a semblance of continuity with an earlier episode. " You'd probably be dead by the end of an episode, and that's if you watch a *good* one. |
