Hey, I was watching one of my tapes, and I noticed this black mark near the top with a popping noise to it, and I don't know what it is Is my VCR dying and about to conk out, or do I need to clean it, or what? Can someone tell me what's going on? : :

Don't worry about it, if it dies it dies get a new they are not hard to find.
Betas aren't easy to find, you know.
I was able to get it to stop once it got warmed up, so maybe it's just not at the proper temperature :/ It is getting cold out

Update: I've plugged my beta into the Panasonic plasma in my basement, played the same tape, and no black marks showed up. So it's my TV that's having the problem. Probably just a bad plug, since my room has a few dead outlets

I have the same problem with my VCR connected to my HDTV. When I have the picture mode set to full I get a small black bar at the top with static. So it very well could be your TV revealing more of the picture than it should.
