Still not sure how excited I am about this Logan in Japan with "The Hand" storyline.

Oh well, stay optimistic I suppose?

Darren Aronofsky is rumored to direct this. This actually gives me more faith in it than I should have.

I thought the first Wolverine was an okay movie, though they did royally mess up the placing of the characters. Gambit shouldn't have been in it, as he and Rogue were sort of into each other in the comics. With him being 15 years before the first X-Men movie, he'd be something almost fifty at the time of the first movie. Way too old for Rogue. And Deadpool. While it was cool that he described himself looking like Ryan Reynolds in the comics, and they actually got Ryan Reynolds in the movie, I don't recall him having Wolverine powers.

Deadpool has always had super-regeneration. Thus, he has a Wolverine power.

Continuity and character placement really bugs me in comic movies. I always want them to be faithful to a marvel timeline that I read (i.e. 80's - 90's). However it is hard to make a movie without changing what I (we) have been accustomed to reading as a child.

There's atleast five films worth of 'secret origins of Wolverine'. Well, it depends on what your definition of 'worth' is.

Colour me not excited for part 2. Bad enough they had to systematically destroy Deadpool in the first one.

Darren Aronofsky is the director, which gives me a lot more confidence in the movie. Also what Aronofsky said to Jackman about bulking up. And this as well:

"Darren said with the last one, ‘Hey you looked great, but you’re so tall that in those long shots you looked kind of like Clint Eastwood, and that’s not Wolverine.” He said that Wolverine, in the comics, is powerful, stocky, you know, he’s short and thick."

It sounds like Aronofsky knows the material.

Are they going to completely train-wreck another one of my favorite characters like they did with Deadpool? Even Ryan Reynolds knows that shit was FUBAR.

I doubt it. I have the utmost faith in Aronofsky. The man is a genius.
