I'd still rank Sonic X higher than Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog because Sonic X had an actual storyline, but I'd rank the SatAM version higher than the other series because it was a dark one and Robotnic was actually threatening for it, as opposed to just the comic relief. That one would kill you without thinking.

Yeah I know. I loved how threatening, evil, menacing and sinister Robotnik was on SatAM. And Jim Cummings did a wonderful job at the voice. But I still disagree about Sonic X. I've tried watching the Japanese version before, and I admit, it was better than the 4Kids dub, but I still hated it. Not just because of Chris, I hate it for other reasons too.

Whatever... I still say that Sonic X is way better than the other Sonic cartoons. Yeah, I watched it recently and I was amazed by what they did. It had good characters, stunning animation, not to mention a little something called a plot, and it was actually faithful to the Sonic games. For that I'd say, give me Sonic X over the 90s Sonic cartoons any day.

I don't see what people find so great about the 1990s Sonic cartoons. I rewatched them and I find them to be horrible. They're nothing more than a bunch of Hanna-Barbara wannabes. The voice-acting is terrible (I didn't like Jallell White as Steve Urkel, and I didn't like him as Sonic), the plots are very suckish, and they're not anywhere close to being faithful to the video games.

    So, for that I say...

Yeah mabye Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog was, but Sonic SatAM was so much better than Sonic X. And SatAM did have a good plot, great well-developed and likeable characters, and the writing, voice acting and animaton were top-notch. And by the time SatAM came out there were only two Sonic games with barely any plot at all. All we knew was: Robotnik turns animals into robots, Sonic and Tails save the animals by destroying Robotnik's robots, and they stop Robotnik from taking over Mobius. At the time (1993) that's all we knew. The creators of Sonic SatAM thought that plot was a little too simplistic and small, so they expanded on it by making new characters, new settings, and expanding on the already existing characters' stories. Besides Dulcy being annoying, and those two horrible Antoine shorts, Sonic the Hedgehog "SatAM" was an amzing cartoon show that was extremely well-written, had great voice acting (Jim Cummings, Charlie Adler, Jaleel White, Kath Soucie, Rob Paulsen, Tim Curry), and stayed true to what the games already had, but made it more complex and epic. And straying a little bit from the source material can sometimes be for the best. As long as it doesn't over-do it (like Captain N or Sonic Underground). Sonic X.......ughhhhhhh. Awful, just pure awful, terrible, GARBAGE! The animation isn't the least bit "stunning", it looks like any other anime, just with darker out-lines. The characters aren't good at all. Amy was even more obnoxious and irritating than she was in the games, Bokkun's voice felt like nails being drilled through your ears, Chris was too Sonic-obbsessed, annoying, and pretty much stole the spot-light. Dr. Robotnik (or shall I say "Eggman" ) was even more pathetic than he was in AoStH, Decoe and Bocoe were more annoying than Scratch and Grounder, I could go on. And another thing: IT WAS JUST SOOOOOO BORING! It really was. I could've fell asleep on that show.

Dude, if you're trying to change blueluigi's mind, don't. Judging by his forum posts, he's a man of VERY firm opinions. And besides, you're stating things that have been stated before ("'Adventures...' wasn't that great; 'SatAM' was well-done and canceled too early; 'Underground' was pigshit; 'X' is bad because A-it's Japanese/ B-Chris/C-4Kids made a crappy, watered down dub/E-It's based off the 'new Sonic' games, not the classic Genesis games', etc.).

Am I the only one that doesn't really give a damn about Sonic SatAM aside from the theme song? Looking back, it was kind of emo and too heavy to be a Saturday morning cartoon.

All I'm saying on is that I love both AoStH and Sonic X equally.
I watched Sonic X when it first aired on FoxBox (Or 4Kids) quite some time ago and fell immediately in love with the show. Out of the blue, I found AoStH youtube poops and was curious if the show was worth watching because it seemed like everyone enjoyed it. I love it.

I don't know why people have a problem with the name "Eggman", especially since that was always his original name. As a kid, and when I first played Sonic the Hedgehog (game 1) at age 9 when it came out, I always said that he was shaped like an egg. He looked like an egg with legs. It was funny how years later, that the reason for that was because his original name was "Eggman". Doesn't matter much anyone. Even in Japan they use both Eggman and Robotnic. Either way, it's no big deal to me. It's no different from Princess Toadstool's original name being used for later games (Princess Peach).

Maybe it was aimed at an older audience. I was going on 12, I think, when it came out. I loved the darkness of the show. I loved how evil Robotnic was! I loved the fact that he was a literal killer and a threat! I really wish that some version of the series would introduce that.

I know in Sonic X they did have the storyline where they showed (or we heard) when Maria and her grandfather (Ivan Robotnic) was killed, and that was just eerie, hearing the gunshots and stuff, but I still find Sonic and his friends trying to survive day to day (Sonic SatAM) interesting. I like how they were rebelling and refusing to conform or be roboticized by Robotnic.

I recall watching Sonic Underground when Sci-Fi aired it on weekday mornings, and recall getting a few VHSes of Sonic SatAM if I'm not mistaken. I liked watching Sonic X until TheCW4Kids overplayed it every Saturday, then I stopped getting into it (no offense). :P

You would've had to have been there. Of course they were crappy cartoons, they are from the early 90's for one. And two, they're based on a kids video game. Of course if you go and watch them today they're gonna look like shit. Adventures of sonic is the only sonic cartoon I ever gave a shit about cause thats the one I watched as a kid. Thats why people found the ones from the 90's to be so great because its what they grew up watching. See, You probably like Sonic x because I'm sure thats what You grew up with. correct?
