In "Blade Runner" was Deckard a replicant?

I've heard "Yes" for the original cut and "No" for the directors cut.

Reading the novel I lean towards "Yes".

I suppose it could be open to interpretation.....R. Scott said "No".

This may have already been proven and perhaps I'm last to the party, but I just watched it again today and it made me wonder...

    Discuss.

I read like half of the novel a couple of years ago. The movie is loosely based on it so things of this sort are open to interpretation (not to mentioned the different versions)... but as far as I know R Scott said that Deckard is indeed a Replicant.

Some suggest that he may be next-generation replicant (Nexus-7)...

But also due to the film ambigous attitude some people said R Scott leave the question unanswered to retain one of the core subjects/topics... what is to be human.
