    Oh yeah, excellent songs.:D

    btw,

Wouldn't it be good if I had great taste in music?
Picking songs as expertly as you?
Wouldn't it be nice if we were all as wonderful as you?

Welcome to another of my Classic 80's favorites,

    80's Solo Beatles:

George Harrison - All Those Years Ago (although released and credited as George Harrison single, Ringo is on drums and Paul is on backup vocals so this could be classed as a Beatles song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85Smw33PKJA

Paul McCartney - Here Today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnfvUntAP4U

Paul McCartney - Spies Like Us http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27ATt3FXAUY

George Harrison- When We Was Fab (Ringo is on drums and makes a cameo in the video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQXx-PKTOw0

Elvis Costello - Veronica (Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello co written song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zifeVbK8b-g&feature=related

Julian Lennon - Too Late for Goodbyes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmJ0AkzvdN8 (Julian's Valotte was a very popular release in 1984 and as Julian's voice sounds very much like his father's, Valotte ends up sounding eerily like a followup to John Lennon's 1980 recordings.)

Thanks One Louder for posting "stepping out". One of the most underated songs of the 80's. I was in high school and it puts a smile on my face I can't get rid of. The memories are as thick as cobwebs.

Here's another 80's Classic that I think gets too little recognition.

For me this song is like a musical entrance to another dimension, and after all of these years it's my opinion that this is still a song in search of a video capable of full expression for the ideas it represents.

As a result, I've linked to a fan tribute version video. But this is still an awesome song that may become someting more in the future.

    Letsee here:

Land of Confusion- Genisis (I prefer Disturbed's version, but this one's good too)

Eye In the Sky- Allen Parsons Project

Remember The Heroes- Sammy Haggar (I actually made a Music video with it)

Batdance- Prince (For the longest time I thought "Get the Funk up" was "Get the Fuck out" I mean they both sound similar and all)
    - GIF made by Emkay of GavHub II (Please don't bug them).

I was born in 1985, so I actually didn't live or experience anything from the 80s..I'm a 90s kid. :)

But my favorite music of all time now is from the 80s-early 90s...the best hard rock and heavy metal era by far.

    Yeah jprc10, you're a 90's kid, lol.

But it pains me to recall that the 80's started with a great tragic event, the December murder of John Lennon in New York City.

It was a shock to the music world, and I think it had a lasting impact on artists worldwide. The 80's became one of the landmark musical decades - but ohh lordy, what a way to start!

Another sad music world loss in the 80's was Thin Lizzy founding member Phil Lynott who died from an overdose in 1986. Thin Lizzy had their biggest success in the 70's but they had a few 80's classics:
