You gotta figure, it's yin and yang; for every right-wing, self-righteous preacher (of any faith) to condemn the actions or (lack of) beliefs of another you're gonna get some egotistical, sanctimonious atheist basically doing the same thing to the believers of God. We, as a society of individuals, have more in common with each other than we do differences, but we rarely realize it.

This is exactly true, and it is basically what has happened to the idea of agnosticism. Regardless of your faith, you will become what you dislike about others if you can't see the big picture. Simplex, complex, multiplex.
