Well, my only real problem with the comics and the film (actually I've yet to see it) is that it's such a No More Heroes rip-off. I have heard they pay tribute to NMH in the film when random enemies apparently bleed money just like in the game but still. Apparently more people have started noticing the similarities.

Oh and who the hell is Michael Cera and why does he supposedly suck as Scott?

The money thing isn't a tribute to no more heroes, its actually from river city ransom. Also the game itself plays almost exactly like rcr. I prefer the graphic novels over the movie due to them changing the way he dealt with the exes. And they left out knives father who ended up fighting roxy.

But the movie was still entertaining nonetheless.

It was an entertaining movie, but Scott is a real jerk in it. Is he that bad in the comic?
Garfield: "My car is so old, that it's insured against theft, flood, fire and dinosaur stampedes!"

Garfield: "The local bus transit is doing their part to help with the weight loss program: each year, they stop further and further away from the curb!

Well, from what I've seen in the comics, he broke up with Knives just to go for Ramona Flowers, just like in the movie. So I would say yes.

As much as I enjoyed Scott Pilgrim VS the World, one thing that slightly annoyed me about the movie is the way he suddenly fell in love with Ramona and he had to brake up with Knives just to be with her. I mean just looking at their relationship in the movie, Scott and Knives seemed to have made such a great couple. They had so much in common, while for him and Ramona, it was never explained what he saw in her, and why he thinks that she is a much better girl than Knives.

Still, I really liked the movie. It was a very fun movie experience to check out on the big screen, it's just too bad it bombed in the box office to make room for Seltzerburg's god-awful Twilight parody.

I also decided to try out the Scott Pilgrim video game for the Playstation Network. That, I would have to say is an excellent game that ties in with both the movie and the comics. And I agree with what other people say about it playing like River City Ransom.

In the movie, Scott's relationship with Knives was altogether different than his relationship with Ramona. I don't think Scott even kissed Knives. With Knives, their relationship came off as more of a cutesy friendship thing rather than being sexual. Scott was 22 years old vs. Knives 17 years old. She was still in high school, which would technically probably be considered statutory rape. Scott's relationship with Ramona was definitely hormone driven. They were pretty much the same age, made out, and all but showed them doing the nasty. Therefore, in essence, Scott broke up with Knives because he wanted to fuck Ramona, in a classic battle of fucking vs. friendship. What the heck would you do in a situation like that?

The comics do a better job at explaining it: first off, Scott's an ass. That's the whole point of the comics. He's an ass who tries to put the blame on everyone else. Dating Knives was just easy. As Elron said, it was more a friendship (for him) than anything else. With Ramona, he was really in love, but he had to fight for it (quite literally) and not take the easy route out. That's the whole moral of the story, not taking the easy route out.
