    		 I wasn't around in the 70s obviously being a 90s kid and all, but I love the music from the period. My taste is fairly broad, but my favourite artist would have to be Cat Stevens- I think 1970's Tea for Tillerman screams early 70s more then any other album I've listened to, Father and Son in particular is one of the best songs ever written.

    I like a lot of those type of artists including James Taylor and Don Maclean. I love Paul McCartney and what he did with Wings as well.

    But I also love the band KISS- to be more precise, my dad adores KISS and even named me after Paul Stanley! They owned rock and roll in 70s and still do to this day!

    		 I was watching one of my Dad's docos on them the other day, focused on how they built their image in the 70s and how they were like virtual super heroes (comic books, figurines and everything!) no one ever knew who they were for like nearly ten years. My Dad has one of the original KISS Pinball machines in his collection of memorabilia- it's still in perfect working order!

    KISS was one of those 70's phenomenons that I just let wash over me at the time. I didn't really pay attention to the band until they started showing up on talk shows. Once I realized that these guys were for real my respect for them, and their music, grew.


    OK now all you Retro Junkers, who remembers the Women's Movement of the 1970's?

    Well Millie Jackson had a hit song in 1972 that had nothing to do with empowering women. In fact her song seemed more like a slap in the face of the Women's Movement, imho.

    At least the guys at my high school, myself included, took Millie Jackson at her word - "if there's anything you want . . . just Ask":

    Thanks to the popularity of the hit TV show "Welcome Back Kotter", John Travolta struck gold with his 1976 hit song, "Let Her In".

    Just a few weeks later Mr. Travolta hit again, this time the song was "Whenever I'm Away From You", and I think it was a much better song.

    		 There are too many songs from the '70's that I like to choose a favourite, but if I had to choose one it would be this classic song by canadian rock band Prism, Spaceship Superstar. I first heard this song 6 or 7 years ago when I was going through my dad's old cassette collection, I popped it in and it blew my mind away!

    I am ashamed to admit this but I had that John Travolta album when I was younger and my musical taste was more mainstream pop stuff. I still prefer that stuff to the negative and hopelessness of today's music. Thanks for bringing back a little memory. How do you all post these photos?
