Pretty good 70s memory, edd. And a good 70s song as well. :)

For a long time now, I've learned how to appreciate jazz and this is one of the greatest jazz tunes I've listened to.

Grover Washington Jr. - Mister Magic

    Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIRstLa1p_w

    Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_F5d189rx4

The guitar playing was the best part in my opinion.

This is outstanding. I've added new songs to my personal playlist.

But I'm still having trouble with disco, believe it or not.

This song was covered by twisted4ever19 earlier in the thread and I must admit, I liked it when it was first released and I like it better now, since it has aged very well, as 70's disco tunes go.

    Andy Gibb - "Shadow Dancing" - 1978:

Everybody Loves Boston, "More Than a Feeling" was nominated as the new national anthem, lol!

Let's sample something from the alt side. Any fans of Coast to Coast AM around here?

Here's music that should be familiar thanks to talk radio.

Giorgio Moroder - "Chase" (From Midnight Express) - 1978:

OK guys, I'm a birthday boy today!

And to celebrate lets have a go with one of the surprise hit songs of the 70's released by a very nice couple from the Netherlands. This is just one of many unusual songs that made the 70's such an unpredictable musical decade.

This is the radio-edit version, (long enough for me, lol)

Mouth & MacNeal - "How Do You Do" - 1971:

Wow, can't touch Peter Frampton's most awesome performance.

But just for April Fool's, how about a Swedish rock band famous for their covers of popular American songs?

    Know what I'm thinking?

    Blue Swede - "Hooked on a Feeling" - 1974:

    Happy Easter Weekend everyone!

I've been saving this post 'til now to illustrate something about 70's music.

1972 was a very unique year in popular music because, let's face it, whatever you were into there was at least one song that was made for you. 1972 was a music year that pointed in every direction. If there was a trend it was "everything", lol.

C/W, Heavy Metal, Gospel, Bubblegum pop and even the first notes of disco, I could go on and on with some of the samplings from this one year alone.

And for this Easter Weekend I have a case in point,

Mott the Hoople - "All the Young Dudes" - 1972:
