Well, this topic is a little bit late, but oh well.
Here are some big names with where they are going, or if they are staying.
Paul Pierce and Ray Allen staying in Boston: When you are a team that were so close in winning the Finals this year, and your coach is coming back for one more year, you can't just leave if you want another ring. Paul Pierce is a franchise player, so him staying was easy to see, but I was unsure about Ray Allen.
Joe Johnson staying and Shaq coming to Atlanta: You can't lose one of your best players if you are wanting to become a Championship Team, so re-signing Joe Johnson is pretty obvious. My thoughts on Shaq are Atlanta needed a big man, and even though Shaq may be old, he is still bigger than Al Horford who should be moved to the PF position.
Dirk Nowitzki staying in Dallas:$80 million dollar 4 year contract is big money, and I don't think any team really wanted him. Nuff siad.
Amar'e Stoudemire going to New York: I hated to see such a historic franchise being one of the worst teams in the league. Him going there makes other superstars like Carmelo Anthony and possibly LeBron James to go there. Not a bad decision, unless he's pretty much the only good player there.
Dwayne Wade having Chris Bosh come to Maimi: Dwayne Wade has discussed many things with Chris Bosh and LeBron James, and Chris Bosh finally signed a contract with the Miami Heat. Will LeBron go with them? If he does, will they figure out that they all need to be a team? Personally, it takes time for chemistry to fall together. I don't know if they could beat Orlando or a healthy Boston Celtics team, but hey, if it works, it will be worth it in the long run.
Carlos Boozer to Chicago: Chicago already has some good young players like Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, so to add another good paint player, it may also boost LeBron there.
It may seem like I am talking a lot about LeBron James, but all three of the teams I have mentioned his name in have a chance of getting him tonight at 9PM Eastern Time on ESPN.
What I don't understand is why all the players I have mentioned have gotten a little time on Sports Center or NBA Gametime or whatever, but why does LeBron James get a full hour special on where he decides to go? It's not like he is the messiah or the Finals MVP Award is named after him. The Bill Russell Finals MVP Award is named after Bill Russell, whom won 11 Championships in his 13 years playing.
