DC Comics announced today that the were finally joining the like of Marvel, Boom and IDW by going digital. So the question is with the "big two" on board do you guys think are digital comics the future of comics or just some flash in the pan idea? I'm very interested in Debis answer since he has a insiders point of view?

Digital comics defeat the whole concept of comics. Especially collecting comics. How do you collect a computer file? Can you actually hold it? Feel it? Take in its texture? Can you store it in a bag and board? The answer is no. Collecting comic books are a unique experience. Turning the page and hearing the paper scrape against the next page, is one of the few delights in collecting. Taking the book and knowing you have something that may be of value later in another. There's just something about having a collection of books that gives you a great feeling. Having a 'collection' of files does not.

Digital comics are a fad. It'll fade away like the speculator market.

Hastings is now one of the first major franchises to feature comics, hopefully this will boost the comic book industry

No idea who they are, but fuck Hastings. I get the feeling they don't have the charm a local comic shop would have. Nor the experienced employees, who know the industry.

I agree. Not only to comics but books in general. There is no better literary experience than to actually holding the book/comic and immerse in it.

Other than perhaps information/excerpts on certain topics, I don't find the ammusement in things like Amazon Kindle/Iliad/Sony reader and so many others.

    They're sorta like F.Y.E

Yeah Hastings just has the mainstream ongoing comics, so no Spider-Man: Fever #3 for me until I drive an hour to a legit comic shop

No indies or limited series :(

But if it gets people to buy comic books I'm all for it
