TV is mainly on for background noise for me. I work better with it.

It use to be that way for me, but the commercials are so loud and fast paced now. If you really want to annoy me when I'm doing something just leave it on Fox News. I can only take hearing the words Obama, Liberals, Sarah Palin, Tea Party, House, Democrats, Oil Spill so many times.

The Andy Rooney segment on 60 Minutes is the only thing I still regularly watch. Besides that, usually, the only things on are things that I like, but, have seen ad-nauseum, or, things that I have no interest in. I was obsessed with The Simpsons as a kid, but nowadays, even the early seasons fail to entertain me. As I got older, I became obsessed with themes of boredom and everyday monotony - and as a result watched TV less and less. I still love King Of The Hill, but just don't feel as compelled to watch it anymore. I know a lot of people get sucked in to/love whatever happens to be the current "hit show", but to quote Seymour from Ghost World "Give most people a Big Mac and a pair of Nikes and they're happy."

Television is the best its ever been. Look back at the crap we used to watch and nostalgically look back at it as great. Now there are several great shows. People simply have more options now.
