I tried Manga (Bleach to be exact) and I couldn't get into it, I wasn't keen on the art style, the plot was confusing and the dialogue wasn't helpful. Also I hate that it has a story arch so I'll have to keep buying them (which I won't).
Always playing as Yoshi since 1995!

I like manga, some titles anyway. Main ones I still like, that is still being published, or haven't grown bored of to some extent are:

    Hunter x Hunter
    Mahou Sensei Negima
    Kuroshitsuji

Series that are finished that I liked are:

    +Anima
    Shin Shirayukihime Densetsu Pretear
Gokusen (it's finished in Japan, but yet to get a US release for some reason, even though its anime got one)
    Deathnote
    Marmalade Boy
    Fruits Basket
X-Day (wish it would've been longer than just 2 volumes)
    Tales of Symphonia
Zelda no Densetsu: Toki no Ocarina (Based on The Ocarina of Time)
Zelda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Kinomi~Jikuu no Shou~/Fushigi no Kinomi~Daichi no Shou~ (Based on Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons)
Zelda no Densetsu: Kamigami no Triforce (Based on A Link to the Past)
Zelda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Boushi (Based on The Minnish Cap)
    Dragon Ball
    Codename wa Sailor V
    Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon
    Black Cat
Gundam Wing manga (which includes the series that took place after the TV series but before the events of Endless Waltz)

i try not to think of manga any differently than american comics. like any other comics, how good it is varies from series to series and it also depends on your tastes.....anyways this thread should really be in the comic book forum instead of the comic strip forum

I'm a huge manga fan. Just take a look at the stats in my sigpic. I didn't get into it until pretty recently though, I had never even heard of it till about 5~6yrs ago, and didn't really start reading it until maybe 2yrs ago.

The thing with manga is that there are countless different types. Just because you didn't like one doesn't mean you'll hate them all. Bleach wasn't a very good one to start with (not unless you're a fan of the anime), nor are naruto nor one piece. All of those are very long & very slow moving.

Also, you don't always have to buy manga. Your local library might have a selection of it, plus you can download or read online manga at countless different sites.

If you tell me what you want in a manga, I could give you some recommendations.
