The topic has been brought up occasionally, it prob merits it's own thread

Haha, eternity is a hard concept to grasp, but if we do have eternal souls, our perception of time would probably be quite different.

Well, when does your soul come into existence? When you're born? If that's the case, it only stands to reason that its existence ends with death.

Some religions do believe in what is called "pre-mortal life" in which the soul exists before our physical manifestations on Earth

Or reincarnation of our soul after our body dies.

So basically you share a soul with someone else. When the first owner dies, the next person gets it when they're born? If each soul is spoken for in this idea, where do new souls come from to allow for population growth?

I believe that we were created by God. Put on this earth to truly understand his Love. It may sound egotistical, but if you really read the bible, it all co-aligns. Why would we want a God, who say's "No. You Will LOVE ME!" Anyways, then comes in John 3:16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son. And Whoever believes in Him, will not parish but have everlasting life." That's it. Then even as our flesh walks on this earth, our spirit from then on is already living the everlasting life.

Again, it's simply the bible. Nothing else.

That's because religion was made by man, and since man is imperfect, so is religion.

You guys aren't taking into account that people forget things with age so if you have a infinite cycle of life you would start anew on account of your memory being wiped clean.

And either way, if the claim is that there is a perfect God, maybe it's more than just believing in something that some guys wrote. Which I can elaborate
