Keep in mind that in it's true translation the command is actually "Thou Shall Not Murder" not kill.

If there was ever a biblical reason to kill(war, capital punishment) it is not in it's same definition the same as murder. Which is a selfish act.

And remember that none of the commandments are more important than each other. So in our eyes, based of social structure, when we see kill we see that as top dog of sins. Where as it's really not.

But anyways, that seems to be a pretty big misconception that murder and kill are the same thing.

Thou shalt have no other god before me, is the most important. It IS number one, after all. Also, the one about don't take the lord's name in vain. People think that means don't use God as a swear word. But that's not what it means. And it's impossible, too. No one knows God's name. What it means is don't say that God told you to do something when he, in fact, didn't.

Nice, VHSer! But, like I was saying the Bible makes clear that God is so huge, there is no sin that can override another. That would make us capable of losing or achieving eternal life. Which isn't how it works. We are all born unto sin, so we strive to try and do everything to glorify God, but we are on earth to realize that it is just not humanly possible. And actually it is determined that His name is God. It's who He is, and a Name.

This is a mormon cartoon that has been banned from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I would have posted links to some South Park clips, but I really don't feel it's necessary.

Speaking as an actual mormon, I can safetly assure you that nothing in that cartoon is true

Mormons can have 12 wifes I think (12 women to clean your house, 12 women to cook for you, 12 women to have sex with, 12 women to raise the kids) mwhahaha!

No, we have one wife, ONE (for those who can't count  )

It is true that we did pratice poligamy at one time, but that was in the church's early years.

The fellowship was small and we couldn't necessarily date thouse outside the church because they were forcing us out of their towns and trying to kill us

We stopped poligamy at the begining of the 20th century

Another thing is you cant take anything to alter you as a natural person, being tylenol or caffine.
Plus with the family system if your kids decide to not practice your faith you'll have to pretty much disown them.

No, not exactly true about the tylenol thing

and even though it's under the word of wisdom (talking about caffine here), it's more or less a suggestion

I'd honestly die without caffine :(

We don't disown our children either, I don't think I could stand to be in a place that did that, the only thing we do to them is pray for their eventual return

    Oh yes South Park.

That episode is funny but not accurate (duh!).There were other people who saw the golden plates and then wrote down their names as a testimony of it being true.

The Osmonds made a concept album/ rock opera in 1973 about Mormonism called The Plan as part of their missionary work.

The one to very left looks like Justin Bieber.

Let's learn how to spell Mormon, class.

    Step 1: Spell Moron. M-O-R-O-N
Step 2: Place another 'M' in front of the 'O'.
Step 3: Read what you wrote. It spells Mormon. M-O-R-M-O-N

Hey! I saw your post. But if you don't mind me asking; wouldn't you rather try to find the truth, then just pick one that keeps you healthy? Because that's what it's all about.

    Thanks

Not having beer, tea (though we are allowed to drink herbal), coffee (postum is okay), or tabacco is part of the word of wisdom

It's done for the sake that the above really aren't good for the body, have terrible long term effects and can stain the teeth

Funny how it was put into action though, Emma Smith got tired of cleaning up all the chewing tabacco reside off the floor when Joesph held meetings in there home and she talked to him about it
