Marvel and DC Universe Original Animated Movies

So what does everyone think of them? Here are my thoughts.

    DC:

Superman: Doomsday - Probally my least favorite of DC's animated movies. They took perhaps the best Superman storyline ever and pretty much ignored most of it.

Justice League: New Frontier - I never read the book it was based off of so unlike Superman: Doomsday I couldn't have anything to nitpick with this time and quite possibility because I that I loved it. I also love Darwin Cook's art style and this movie does a great job animating that.

Batman: Gotham Knight - I never really cared about this one a whole lot. Some of the stories in movie were great but at the same time some weren't as good. It was more of a mixed bag.

Wonder Woman - Since I was never a huge fan of Wonder Woman I never expected to like this one a lot and it took me a very long time to get around to it but Holy crap was it ever great.

Green Lantern: First Flight - The fact that although it was a origin story they didn't spend a lot of time on it but still did it right. I hope the live action movie takes a few ques from this one since they can really learn a lot from it.

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies - Over all it was pretty good but I didn't feel that Ed McGuinness', art style translates so well into animation

    Marvel:

Ultimate Avengers - A decent adaption of The Ultimates Vol. 1 but a lot of good stuff were left out all the same.

Ultimate Avengers 2 - Unlike the first Ultimates movie this one is a completely original story. Once again it was just a decent movie.

The Invincible Iron Man - Not the best of Marvels animated movies but also not the worse.

Doctor Strange: The Sorcerer Supreme - Like Wonder Woman I thought the Doctor Strange movie was way better then I ever thought it could be.

Next Avengers: Heroes Of Tomorrow - My least favorite movie from either Marvel and DC, it didn't help that it felt a lot more like a pilot for a Saturday Morning cartoon then a actual movie.

Hulk Vs. - I was never a big fan of The Hulk or Thor so the Hulk vs. Thor movie left me bored. I am however a big fan of Wolverine so I enjoyed the Hulk vs. Wolverine movie a lot and its my favorite movie from Marvel. Its really to bad that it was only 37 minutes.

So what does everyone else think of these movies?

They're making an animated feature about Planet Hulk? Well that could be interesting I guess.

I quite liked Ultimate Avengers. Like you said: nothing special but not bad either. Hulk vs. Wolverine was pretty cool but for some reason all of Deadpool's jokes felt kinda forced or tacked on or something.

BTW does Batman: Mask of the Phantasm count? I haven't actually seen that one but I've heard great things about it.

I wouldn't count Mask of the Phantasm. It actually came out to theaters. All of these are direct to DVD. Although, Mask of the Phantasm is one of the best Batman films ever. The score is great also.

Green Lantern FF was pretty cool and what i like about an origin story, less origin more action, in a way it felt like JL's pilot

I watched Planet Hulk the other day. I thought it was pretty good. I never read the comics for it but from what I know of it they seem to have done a MOSTLY faithful job despite some glaring differences.

I work in a movie store and staff get to take movies home when they come in, its usually a week early but sometimes we get them even sooner, for example we got in District 9 in the first week of December when it wasn't released until the end of the month due to the Christmas shipping schedule.

Well yeah I work in a movie store I'm NOT paying for movies, epically if they aren't even on the shelf yet. I use the excuse that if I can take the movies home I can recommend them to people....I never recommend movies though.

^ I actually liked the Dr. Strange movie quite a bit.

I just saw DC's latest, Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths. Admittedly I don't know jack shit about the comic so I don't know how it would compare but I have to say that I enjoyed the movie quite a bit.

All and all thumbs up from me.

Yeah, I thought that the movie ended kind of abruptly, leaving out much of the storyline from the comics

Beta Ray Bill was AWESOME tho!
