    Do get along with them?

I enjoy my moms company, and I don't have a dad.

    Sorry for the long post.

I've always gotten along with my mom, except when she went through menopause after her hysterectomy. She went through the hot flash, mood swing phase that drove me crazy.

My dad and I have always had our ups and downs. When I was 16 till I moved out in my mid 20s we were always going at it. He yelled at one of my friends on day when I was 17 and I told him off. He attacked me after I called him "a fucking asshole" and I fought back. I side kicked him and he flew across the room and fell into the table in my room. He started coming after me again, but I ran out of the house because I knew the fight would have been bad. I spend the night at a friends house and he went to the emergency rooms due to chest pains and his back hitting the table. He never went after me again.

The first few years after I moved out my dad was still an ass to me at times, but I get along with him today and most of our arguments are short lived. I know my parents will be gone one day so I want things to be good.

Despite the fact that I for the most part have absolutely nothing in common with my parents I still get along with them great. I'd do anything for them that they ask, but they never really ask anything since we don't live around each other. I MIGHT get to see my parents two weeks out of a year at the very most.

I get along with both of them equally well, which is easy when they are 260 miles away from me.

I get along with them pretty good. My dad and I have gone at it on occasion though (not anything physical, just raising our voices at each other).

My parents were pretty cool. And they still are to a degree. The only problem is one time my mom started yelling at a Bud lite truck driver for parking his truck next to the school. It was embarassing but thankfully I wasn't there I only heard about it.

I consider myself very luck to have the kind of parents that I have. There's always been support and laughter in our family. I've never had any breakups with my dad or my mom and I don't think I ever will. I don't have to get embarassed by them when I go visit them with my friends and all my friends think they're really cool too so that's why I know I'm lucky. I have a lot of friends whose parents have been devorced but mine have been married for 36 years now and I hope it'll last as long as they live. Also I'm forever thankful to my dad who's been a professional pianist for over 40 years now to having passed the musical gene into me and my brother. I can't imagine my life without playing the guitar or making my own music. Been very lucky.

my parents gave me the best pre teen child hood EVER! end of story your child hood may have been good but mine was better lol jk no really my mom and dad did so much to give me a chance it was awesome. but when jr High came around and i started hanging with a rougher crowd they continued trying to "HELP" by sending me to a place called the utah boys ranch, or west ridge academy. This place was the most abusive heinous place i have ever been, yet there buisness modedl tells parents that if there kids are talking bad about the ranch, (like say the food is rotten, there are child molesters here or we are getting the shit kicked out of us, etc) if we say these things that it is just a manipulation tool to get us out of the place. hahahah if they had to say that enough that its posted on there website i dont think we was making it all up. I actually help run a website about my expierence there www.mormongulag.com we also have videos on youtube. but anyways me and my parents didnt get along during those years and for years after i held it against them because the whole time i was there i would tell them about the abuse and they would tell me that they were gonna rat me out for being manipulative. recently I have forgiven my dad all he has ever done really is to try to help is only child out and i commend him for that. He only recently started to believe everything about the ranch with all the stories and documentaries coming out online. but i dont hold it against him in longer he is a good guy and my mom is a good lady. i get along with them these days great. sorry for my rant.
